I have benn looking into getting a rifle in 204 ruger. I would like to know what company makes a good one. It will be used for chucks and maybe coyote. I was looking at the Rem 700lvsf or one one of the Savages. I would like it to be a light gun in ss and syn.

I have one in an Encore, and would not get that caliber with the way you plan to use it in an encore. Follow up shots are tough.
I bought one for my brother in a 700ADL, and that gun, though cheap, shoots great. I was shocked how well it shot.

Once you layed out your preferances I feel STRONGLY that you will LOVE what I use.
Take a look; and comes with a detachable magazine.

I have the same exact gun as Sheridan. It shoots great. I also have a CZ 527 American in .223. Like I've stated in other posts;I can't make myself shoot the Savage when my CZ is around. Check out the CZ. I know it doesn't have ss or a synthetic stock , but I think it shoots better than the Savage. That is not to say the Savage isn't a good gun in it's own right. It is. I justcan't get away from the CZ. Check them out . It is worth the extra money.

I just bought a new LH CZ in 204 Ruger. I compared it to a lot different rifles. I went with the CZ. It has a lot of good features. It has a steel magazine(not plastic). The rifle handles very well. The set trigger is great, and it is adjustable. The other 2 rifles that were in the running was a Savage, and a Tikka. I ruled the Tikka out, just too much plastic, and the rifle feels like a "TOY" to me(also a 204 Tikka is very difficult to find). The Savage was a close second, but for the same price I felt the CZ was a better deal. I wanted to shoot the rifle last wekend, but I had a tooth absess, so life is a bit painful right now, hopefully in another week or so.
I bought this rifle to use for ground hogs out to 300 yards. I hunt a lot of barn yards, and I also wanted a fast handling truck rifle. I went with the 32 grain bullets. If the bullet shoots like the ballistics say it does, then the bullet should be on a rope out to 275 yards if sighted in properly. I will limit my shots to 300 or 350 yards max. I feel that is the effective range of the 204 and 223 on ground hogs. A magazine was a must for me, and that was the final decision maker for the CZ for me, a 5 round removable magazine. And I hate to say this but the rifle throws up and handles like some of my Kimber's(please do not repeat that). Tom.
