Default RE: Which 204

I just bought a new LH CZ in 204 Ruger. I compared it to a lot different rifles. I went with the CZ. It has a lot of good features. It has a steel magazine(not plastic). The rifle handles very well. The set trigger is great, and it is adjustable. The other 2 rifles that were in the running was a Savage, and a Tikka. I ruled the Tikka out, just too much plastic, and the rifle feels like a "TOY" to me(also a 204 Tikka is very difficult to find). The Savage was a close second, but for the same price I felt the CZ was a better deal. I wanted to shoot the rifle last wekend, but I had a tooth absess, so life is a bit painful right now, hopefully in another week or so.

I bought this rifle to use for ground hogs out to 300 yards. I hunt a lot of barn yards, and I also wanted a fast handling truck rifle. I went with the 32 grain bullets. If the bullet shoots like the ballistics say it does, then the bullet should be on a rope out to 275 yards if sighted in properly. I will limit my shots to 300 or 350 yards max. I feel that is the effective range of the 204 and 223 on ground hogs. A magazine was a must for me, and that was the final decision maker for the CZ for me, a 5 round removable magazine. And I hate to say this but the rifle throws up and handles like some of my Kimber's(please do not repeat that). Tom.
