Default Remington or Winchester 300 ultra mag?

I am looking at getting a 300 ultra mag but am still undecided which to get either Remington or Winchester. Any advice would be great.

Although I've never shot an elk with it, I can attest to the accuracy of my Remington 300 rum. Mine is a Sendero SF. It's got a Leopold 4-14 50 vari-x III on it. Factory 180gn scirrocos shoot 3/4" groups at 100 yards. I did have to adjust the trigger on it though. The trigger was terrible as set from the factory. I just looked up "Remington Triggers" on the internet and found several sets of instructions on how to adjust the trigger. The trigger is now excellent! After adjusting the trigger on the Remington, you won't be disappointed!

Yeah DJ, and believe it or not many people use 30-30s to kill elk. So what's the point of a 30-06. Or for that matter, why not just use black powder, that worked for many years. The man was asking for info on Win v Rem in 300 rum.

7x7 If it was a choice between the Rem and a Win it would be the Win every time .I have some old Rem that are great but I believe the new ones aren't nearly as well made .In thier effort to bring the price down the quality has slipped . IMHO

7x7 I just noticed your from Salem so i know you are probably familiar with BiMart stores . I was in one today and they had the model 70 with a black action in the 300 Ultra mag for $429.00 . I thought it was a good price but I' m not that familiar with that model .What do you think?
