Considering buying one. Any opinions on
short vs long action? Going for elk this year
and maybe Grizzly in future but I am concerned that this will be enough for griz(probably interior grizzly).

My friend picked up a Remington LSS .300 RUM at a gun show and I do all of his reloading. This is a fine shooter and it has a lot of down range energy...enough for bears! I shoot a .300 Weatherby but I can get better accuracy out of the RUM,if I had to do it over again I would get the Ultra Mag for elk and grizz...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Might want to check the Gun Section. I asked a question regarding 300 RUM vs 300 WBY (in the last two weeks) and got allot of good feedback. I agree with PaJack the RUM is better than the WBY. It will definitely take out the Elk, as for the Grizzly, I think you would need atleast a 200 gr. bullet or larger.
