Default Hornaday SST question?

These new slugs look amazing, and are supposed to be accurate out to 200 yards with a shotgun, which if true is.... WOW!!!!

My question is there are 2 boxes, one of them says CUSTOM on the box, the other says RIFLED BARREL ONLY....Is the CUSTOM box for smooth bore barrels? Thanks forany info.

I hope this can help you.

IF any slug is gonna be consistent at 200 yards it will be thru a rifled barrel.

Matt, it sort of helped, I mean I am not expecting to get 200 yards out of a smooth bore slug gun, I don't think I'd even try a shot at that range with a rifled barrel.

But I stopped in Big R on the way to work, and they had 2 different boxes of the same SST slugs, they both looked the same except one box said CUSTOM on it and the other had RIFLED BARREL ONLY and both were in capital letters. The rifled barrel only is pretty self explanitory, but I am confused as to what the CUSTOM is? Ipulled up Hornaday's web page and did not find anything helpfull there either.

Ibelieve most all of Hornady's boxed ammo says, "Custom" on it. Kind of like all the consumer packaged goods companies that want us to believe that the word "Premium" on their boxes warrants us paying extra $$$ for their stuff.

I have 1 rifle that CRAVES Hornady factory ammo, but I have2 others that are indifferent to it. I'd say it's worth trying a box.
