Default WOW....What a shooter

I just got my daughter a .260 Rem in a Ruger 77 MKII, Rubber Stock, blue metal. Long story short, My daughter shot it at the shop after installing a scope and she shot 2 120gr Nosler BT Remington Factory loads through a common hole. She batted her pretty eyes, melted Daddys heart(wallet) and we took it home.

After some research we loaded some shells with so much confidence that we went ahead and loaded a whole box ( i figured it was good practice for her and I could always pull them later) and headed to the range to prove the point.

I shot the gun this round and look where the first three ended up.

Her group is on the white paper....mine is on the "target tan"

This is one my smallest ever groups at 100yds and it was fired from junky old sporter wt Ruger, with a junky old Tasco 3-9x50mm world class scope in junky old tasco rings and weaver style bases.

After moving the p.o.i. to the right spot I fired another round just to be sure and darned if it didn't hit the same spot with a third one holer, from a barrel that was Waaaay hotter than I should have ever gotten a new barrel.

.....Thanks for Looking

Those .260s are a FANTASTIC round. They have just exploded in popularity ever since they came out in 2000 for just that reason. Easy to shoot, easy on the shoulder, and WOW do they shoot! Great groups!

Yea I read that about that hawkeye. That sounds like it really sucked.I have three rugers and I have had no trouble with them. That is alot of work on one rifle.

Looks like she is going to be some shooter.
I had one of the rugers and was set up about like yours, below is 2 groups with 2 different bullets shot out of those junky rugers. The one I had sure liked those old cheap 140 gr core-locs also.
I had one in a rem mtn rifle also and it would shoot but sold those two to get a rem BDL in 260.I shoot 85 gr,100 gr and 120 gr in it haven't even tried any 129 or 140 gr bullets in it.the 120 gr works great on deer year before last I dropped one at 442 yd with the 120 gr.
The 260 is one heck of a deer rifle.

Great to hear about good things out of Ruger. I have a soft spot for them and they seem to be unfairly maligned and kicked around sometimes by some of the other gun nuts. (or maybe that's just my perception)

I just gave my oldest Ruger a renovation, so now that one feels like I have a whole new gun to go out and play with.

To be honest I don't care what maker of gun I have in my hand as long as it performs when the time is called upon. I personally shoot weatherby vanguards and rugers. They shoot sub moa groups all day long, yet some people bash me because I didn't spend 3000$ on a rifle and scope. My favorite combo is my walnut stock 257 wby mag. with a 4-14X42 burris scope on it. I spent aroound 1000$ for the entire set up and will put it up against anything out there. Shoot what makes you happy, anddon't worry about what people think. Awesome shooting with the Ruger, and good luck in the future.

I have shot rugers in 260, that is just how they shoot! Awesome gun and awesome groups from you two!!!

Rugers seem to be VERY accurate, i dont care what anyone says they are awesome! I am currently trying to tune in my Heavy Sporter 25-06.
