Mosin Nagant 91/30

the mosin nagant 91/30 isa very good gun. I have a m44 it is accurate for the first few shots until the barrel gets hot then it starts to lose it accuracy.same with the mauser 98. that should not be a problem if your hunting because it should only take at most two shots.the most accurate nagants are the finish models by far. the k31 is also a very good gun and should also be good for a hunting. good luck

i was going to purchase a 91/30 a couple of years ago for this same purpose. i ended up buying one then upon recieving it i decided it wasn't for me. although they are very affordable there were too many things i didn't like. my main problem however was the safety. i didn't feel comfortable with the operation of it. without it loaded i tested how well the safety worked. if the safety handle wasn't completely over as far as you could turn it the fireing pin would still drop. this made me feel very uncomfortable. i opted to trade this rifle in on my current deer rifle a remington 700. i would hold out and buy a newer gun and i think you'll be alot more happy i know i am.

I have a 91/30 with a tikka barrel so ive never had any accuracy problems. they make a fine hunting rifle that can withstand whatever abuse you throw at it... as for people complaing about the saftey dont worry about it just carry the rifle uncocked and cock it by hand prior to taking the shot.

i use to have one and it was a good shooter. you can get a mount for it that replaces the rear sight turning it into a scout type rifle.i think it was a b squaure mount just that you have to use a pistol scope on it. it was very fast to get up on target that way. also winchester makes hunting ammo as well as lellier&bellot and wolf. http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm...TOKEN=41522641 http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm...TOKEN=41522641 http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm...odID=ZGMOI0600
