One of the guys I hunt with has an 870 that he has had for nearly 30 years, and only gets cleaned after the season (we hunt everything, in any weather) and it had never misfired on him. That says a lot about how they are built to me.

For those shopping for a shotgun: Get a Remington 870... 30-40 years from now, you can give it to your grandson and he'll continue hunting with it.

IMO the BPS is a better shotgun. I have a 3.5" 12 ga. BPS that I use for turkey andI like itbetter thanmy 870. Nothing wrong with an 870 but I just think the BPS is worth the extra cost.

Nova. 870 is a good gun. Just like the unique look of the nova, as well as the performance. The 870 has such a great response because it has been around for ever. The nova will be to. Give it time.

I am a Nova lover. Gone swimming with that gun a few times and never an issue. Very tough and perfect for waterfowling. Like the capability to handle whatever load you want to shoot. Tough as nails gun.
