Here are a few team name suggestions:

Welcome everyone! I am in SW Iowa and bowhunting is my favorite. I have two great bucks on film and know there are many more that I haven't seen yet. My season opens October 1st, but I will not be able to start hunting until the 4th, when I get back from taxidermy school. I have been bowhunting for 9 years now and live for it. I can't wait to put these other guys in our dust. Good luck to you all!

hunter25 09-05-2004 02:49 PM

RE: Official Team 23 Thread

hunter25 checking in. jerry606, you'll make a fine captain...I don't do well w/ responsibility (just kidding). Braggin' Bucks works for me.

Most of my hunting is done in Fulton County, IL. This year I'll get about 4-5 hunts in over in Brown/Adams county, which is just north of Pike County...which some of you might be familiar with. Hunt two different farms that are about 5 miles from each other. Some very nice bucks (150+) in both areas.

I'll do my best to not let the team down.

jerry606 09-05-2004 03:18 PM

RE: Official Team 23 Thread

I've got my eye on two bucks around here that could match anyone you boys can grow out there in Illonois and Iowa. I'll be hunting several farms here in Bulter, Pa. Hopin to stick one of these two bruisers both are prolly 140+. We should have a vote for team name and captain, hopefully we'll be hearin from the rest of the guys soon.

Wolf killer 09-05-2004 03:42 PM

RE: Official Team 23 Thread

jerry606, I think you should pick the team name from a list that we all like?
I hunted yesterday, it was opening day for me. I had 7-deer cross in front of my groundblind @ 10-yards. I only had one buck cross in front of the groundblind. He was a small 3x3-Whitetail. I saw the big 170-class whitetail that I have been watching. He never got closer than 100-yards.[:o]

Good luck Wolf Killer, got put an arrow through that big one! Keep us posted on how it is going.

LLBUX 09-05-2004 05:17 PM

RE: Official Team 23 Thread

How about 'Grounds For Divorce' as a team name?

Glad to be part of the team.

Jerry606 has my vote.

I see that hunter 25 is from IL. I have 800 acres in Greene County available for my teammates if they have IL tags. Just get with me to make plans.

Let's get 'em!

Count me in guys.

Glad we all made.

Love bowhunting myself. like all others on the board I guess.

Anyhow, I'll be hunting my home state of Arkansas HARD, as always, as well as South Dakota and Oklahoma.

RE: Official Team 23 Thread

jerry606 sounds like a good captain

like braggin' bucks for da name

any of you guys computer graphic literate enough to design us a sweet signature logo?

hunter25 09-06-2004 08:14 AM

RE: Official Team 23 Thread

Designing a team logo? The company I work for has its own design software...so I could probably come up with something by Wednesday (9/8). I am by no means a graphic artist...but I do have access to several and one is a pretty big deer hunter. I'm sure he wouldn't mind putting something together for us. Heck, my brother-in-law is a graphic artist for CAT, so I have a few options on my end.

I'm comfortable w/ Braggin' Bucks as a team name. I will work on putting together a rough sketch of a logo, etc. and see what you guys think. If someone else wants to take this and run w/ it, go right ahead.

Woodline Bucks 09-06-2004 12:35 PM

RE: Official Team 23 Thread

I say go with it hunter25, I like Braggin' Bucks as well. Jerry, show us the money, and the way to the top captain. 26 long days until the arrows can take aim and the horns can be measured here.

What's everyone else shooting.

I'm shooting an 04 Bowtech Patriot.

So far really like it.

Note: Not trying to start a debate, just curious what everyone on the team is shooting!

RE: Official Team 23 Thread

Woodline Bucks & jerry606,
Didn't you guys get the memo? According to my local pro shop, Whitetail deer can no longer be killed unless you are shooting the current model year bow.:D You guys need to go out & buy new bows asap.:D

This is my equipment list:
2004 Darton Typhoon,
Wisker Bisket rest,
Easton AXIS arrows &
Muzzy broadheads.

Woodline Bucks 09-06-2004 08:19 PM

RE: Official Team 23 Thread

I'm not sure about jerry, but if that were true I would have named myself whitetail killer. Just kidding, sounds like a good setup, how do you like your whisker biscuit? I shoot a drop away rest and really like it, but I have always liked the idea of the whisker biscuit as well. Do you notice much effect from fletching rubs? I'm not so sure that older means wiser, but we'll wait and see. Good luck this year! Help us get to the top and win this thing.

Gilmore 09-06-2004 08:35 PM

RE: Official Team 23 Thread

I'm checking in. Sorry it took so long, but Saturday was the first day of deer season in KY, so I've been hunting every spare minute that I've had. Saw a pretty nice eight pointer on the 4th. Way too far to take a shot at though. Didn't have any luck today. I think it's just too hot. Hoping for more action as the rut gets closer.

jerry606 09-06-2004 08:43 PM

RE: Official Team 23 Thread

Glad to hear from you Gilmore, now we just need Jerseyjoe. Keep us posted on your hunts, im chompin at the bit to get out our season doesn't open till Oct 2nd though...:(

Send a email and a PM out to JerseyJoe and see if he's participating. We have missed an alternate somehow and that means we have one more to place. Please let me know if JJ doesn't want to participate. I'm assuming he does, he's been in the forums for a while. I've also sent this plea to Teams 21 and 22 just in case...Thanks guys.

RE: Official Team 23 Thread

Good luck NC! Keep us up to date on how you're doing. I agree, this should be a great team. I can't wait to get out in the timber.

RE: Official Team 23 Thread

Okay guys, I have started on our signature/logo, but need a little bit of input. Thought we could go w/ a black/gold or black/silver as our colors. I'm going to try and incorporate a rack inside the "Braggin' Bucks" name, have three team member's names on left, three on the right and four accross the bottom. Want to keep it simple, but don't want it to look I spent 10 minutes on it either. If you haven't yet, make sure your email is available in your profile and I'll shoot you out some rough drafts to get your ongoing input.

Thanks and glad to see almost all of us have checked in.

RE: Official Team Braggin Bucks (23) Thread

I believe I got the logo done. Would love to post this, but of course its stating that the file is too large. I know there is a way to do this, but not for sure of the procedure...any help would be appreciated. Also, just send me a private message w/ your email address and I can send it to you that way.
Thanks!
