Yes I'm here, but it doesn't look like too many others have shown up. Oh well. I hunt Southwest Michigan near the Indiana border.

Went out scouting twice last week in the evening. One of the areas I hunt has a pivot point about 200 yds from the edge of the woods. I crawled up the ladder and sat there until dark. About 30 mins after I sat down a bachelor group of 5 bucks came out in the field. Nothing impressive. Then about 30 mins later two more came out. The first I would say 135 - 145 and the second 155 - 160 (BIG). The same property has produced a 153 - 8 point, a 142 - 8 point, and last year a 156 - 10 point (all within the last 5 years). I will definitely keep scouting.

Sorry it took me a few days to check in. Been busy at work lately. Cant wait to get this season going.:D:D:D
I'll be huntin' western GA area. Had a friend sight a few bucks out in the field/woods I hunt add to that a new bow set up and I'm expecting a good season.

WVhunter! the Shaft's sounds o.k. to me ,and as for team Capt if everyone is in agreement that's o.k. as well . I'm still waiting for more suggestion's from other members ,hopefully they'll show soon.

I agree with WV Hunter Nubo your tha man for tha job. I'm all for you being capt.
And hey don't count us out yet. West GA has produced some mighty big bucks. Top of the Georgia list in 2003 season.

I would think PAhuntr would have at least one post if he registered for the contest .We'll have to check with Double lung on this .I've PM'd all the members and haven't got any response from some of the other member's.

I already checked in the sign in post, the other name doesn't exist in the thread and doesn't have any posts to speak of at all, I amended the Team Thread to include Frank into Team 11 because he did sign in as member 144 or something like that in the original contest sign up.

O.K. Guy's! we have 3 names picked out give them a vote . Whoever get's the most votes is the name we'll go by ,I like them all and I think I'll vote "The Shafts" I really like this one

I'd say we have to at least give them 2 weeks from the day the teams were announced before they get the boot. People get real busy sometimes and this is the last thing they have time for.

As far as the team name....I like The Shafts unless someone can come up with something better. I can't be much help with a logo though.

Let's start introducing ourselves to the rest of the team. I know we have a few folks that have been around a while, but a bunch are new to the board.

Anyhow...I'm 37, married, with 2 kids. I have been bow hunting seriously for about 15yrs. I live in the mountains of VA, and hunt both in VA and WV. I own 38 acres (where I live) and also we have a small hunt club that leases almost 1000 acres from a family member in WV. Both are decent places to hunt to get a deer, but the areas I hunt are not known for big bucks. A good one where I am would be 110". I'm sure there are bigger around...just not that many. There have only been 5 total p&y entries ever, from the 2 counties I hunt. Man I get jealous hearing about these guys passing 130's, but I have to play with the hand I'm dealt. I guess when I take that p&y....it will be like taking a b&c in these other areas:D:D I can't wait !!!!

I've killed alot of deer with a bow, but exactly 0 good bucks. I haven't actually shot a buck with my bow since '97. In '98 I decided that I was done shooting small bucks and would hold out for a mature buck only. From that point on, I became the doe master [8D]...while holding out for a wall hanger. I'm hoping this will be my year to get him. I've seen a few nice ones around...now I just need it all to come together for me.

I usually get a decent amount of hunting time in during the season...but this year may be a little different since I will be starting a new job soon. I have no idea what my schedule will be like.

So thats it for me in a nutshell. Lets hear from the rest of our team!

The Shafts sounds good to me too. I'm currently trying to finish getting my bow set up. I added a wisker b. yesterday but it's all out of alignment. So I'm working like crazy trying to get everything ironed out in time. ;) No worries though it allways comes together.
I'll be hunting quite a lot this season I have a new job with less time restraints.
BTW just a lil pick ya up.... Nubo your doin' a great job. Proud to have ya as capt. :D

I'm as fired up as the next guy.
Looks like we have a good team. How me and my brother ended up on the same team is amazing.
Since we're both from NJ, and P&Y's are few and far between I'm a little concerned.
But, We both have had good success in recent years. He shot a nice 11-point 2 years ago and I arrowed an 8-pt. last year.
Their grandfather is still running around here somewhere. We hunt 260+ acres exclusively.
It's just the two of us and it's bowhunting only.
I look forward to contributing to our Victory!

My name is Rich Bond,
I live in Southern NJ. I'll be 37 next wednesday. I'm married and have two future huntin' buddies (boys 2 & 4 yrs. old)
I hunt 260 acres of Private Land with my brother Steve (Trock63) that we live on.
Our zone (25) allows 3 bucks a year (1 per season) and unlimated does. We do very well with keeping the freezer full.
We take on average 7 deer a year. I shot two nice bucks last year with a nice 8-pt. being my highlight.
Next to my kids, Bowhunting is my number one passion. I hunt every day when possible.
I look forward to getting to know my teamates in the months to come.

Bowdaddy ! glad to hear from ya ,you really got a way of making your team mates nervous,LOL Anyway's my name is John Edwards and i go as nubo on the forum ,sounds to me we all are in the same situation here with buck size but that doesn't matter this is all for fun anyway's .

I have 2 kids as well a son 7 and a daughter 11 and I'm 45 years young,I hunt on numerous pieces of land and there are a few good buck's available some near the 150class but very few and far between.I've been hunting since I was 15 but only for 5yrs with a bow I have numerous kills with a rifle but only a couple with the bow .
I leave in Sept 20th for a 2 week archery hunt for moose, so the last 2 week's of Sept you won't see me on here at all .
I'm not here to win this ,it's just for fun and hope my team mates feel the same . This has sure got me all fired up and i'm hoping to get my wall mount which has alluded me for so long .
Anyway's i want to welcome you and your brother Trock63 to the team on behalf of myself and the other members .
Your team logo look's great to me as well as the one Stalker made ,I'll let you guy's decide which you's want to go with. The other guy's visit almost every day and I'm sure they'll be welcoming you as well.
Could you send me your e-mail address and phone number so i can have it so i can add it to my team list which I'll send out when it's finished complete ,this is so you can contact your team mates need be .
One other thing is when everyone or anyone takes their buck will they send me a picture and a little story about it with dates and times so that i can keep them on file . If i can get a frind to attach these pic's and stories all together we'll try to get team success album out after the hunt .

Now guy's that we've come to an agreement on a name ,you's decide for the team which logo to go with. When you's do that e-mail it to me so that I can send it out to the other members of the team. I know there's been alot of work done on these logo's and it's only fair to give both consideration .

Anywho, I forgot to give any info on myself. Sorry. Here goes....

My name is Chuck Jindrich, I'm 30 years old. I grew up what you would call a city slicker right out side of Atlanta. When I graduated from high school I moved as far away from home to go to college. That landed me in Carrollton a small but frendly town on the Alabama Georgia border. I lived there for 5 years gettin my undergrad. After that I moved away for a year but my girl stayed in Carrollton (she followed me there to go to college as well. we were high school sweethearts). We didn't do so well apart so the follwing summer I moved back and we got married. We have been living here ever since. 5 years now. I have truly grown fond of the country lifestyle. I go hunting, fishing, praying as much as I can. It really shocked my wife the first time she saw me in boots. But now it's just a part of me. We have one child who is 1 1/2 years old. Until this year I was a high school band director and when we had Ethan I quickly found a job teaching middle school. No where near the hours or responsibilities. My wife Jen is a stay at home mom. She also works for the church as their childrens minister.
I hunt about 35 acres of pasture / woodland that a friend ownes. The area that I hunt I am prety much the only one on it. However, there are 3 other people who hunt land near by. I passed up my 1st shot 2 years ago and let a fawn walk. Last year I had a doe wind me at 40 yards just before I got a shot off. I've seen 3 bucks on the property in the past 2 years and no reports on them being killed. I'd say my chances this year are fair. Sorry about not having much killin experience I'm just a late bloomer I guess. But I'll do my best to help the group.
