ORIGINAL: trophyhuntr

seeing nothing but small ones
I've seen a few big bodied deer that would be close to the 200lb mark. Easily 3-5yr olds. Only problem is that the area I hunt has a 4pt on a side antler restriction. I saw a massive 6pt last night. I'm no expert at scoring but I would bet he would have scored 100 or better. Maybe next year he'll grow that extra point!

Hey guys whats up I got a story for you guys. My wife bow hunts she got in to it two years ago she has not scored yet not for lack of trying or seeing deer she just wating for the right shot she knows her limits 20 yards and her capabilitys(sp) .

Well after that last saturday night I took my honey to a tower stand we call the condo sits two great. I seen sevral Deer there six days before open day so I thought that would be a good place for her first and I wanted to be there to help along and be there to experance her first.

We go to leave and she ask me if I was going to take my bow I said I didnt need it that she was going to shoot the deer not me .

SO we get to the stand and we start seeing deer early but nothing coming to us then we see him a buck of a lifetime and he was heading down a path that would put him 10 yards form us he was a big ten very heavey and very long tines he looked like he was about 4 to 5 inches wider then his ears .

Ok I try to keep my wife calm it was hard when I could hardly control my self he kept coming I was ranging him his every step he got to 32 yards broad side head down when came alert I dont know if he caught a hint of our sent or just got that big buck feeling.
He search the air by lifting his head as high as he could then just held froze for about five minutes then turned and walked back the way he came.

My wife then smacked me and told me I should have brought my bow who knew.I will never hear the end of this one. I told you so.[:'(][:'(][:'(]

You all are still here? I thought you Cut & Ran.

Hey huntitall, I know the feeling. I was going to just bring my video camera on my first hunt but I could stand the thought of seeing one of the big ones offering a broadside w/o my bow. I don't plan on bringing my camera again though. It was difficult to film the darn deer and be ready to shoot.

Just relax. You'll get another shot. Rule number one: You have to first hunt where the big ones at and see him before you get to shoot him. I wish you luck because now I want to see him.

Hey guys! Hope all is going well

Got back from my week up north, although I did not take my bow with me...I will the next time I go up

My bud scored on a mulie the first day that goes 170, 2 days later another bud scored on a very nice Mulie that goes 211..

I downed a small bull Moose the next day and downed a nice 189 Mulie that evening great day!! Next day my cow elk went down Lots of meat for the freezer now 575 lbs of Moose alone LOL (although its shared 4 ways LOL

Another bud missed a nice 150ish WT....A Bull Elk and a very nice looking blonde bear (with a great chocolate face )

Great trip all around!!

Now to go after my Wt with my bow!!!!!
