How 'bout this one guys? Too bad he only has one good side the other is all messed up?
How would you score something like this?

This is him from last year.

man, i'm not real sure I guess he would have a lot of deductions. The one behind him in last years pic looks like he would be a shooter this year.

Ok Team Non-Typical guys, I am heading to the woods this afternoon after lunch. The season opens tommorrow and I have spotted a VERY nice buck a couple of times. I think I have a plan. We just have to wait and see! Anyway, good luck to all and let's "rack"em up.!

Yea get us off to a good start. I will be going out next Thursday and next weekend. This early bow season is great but I was walking throught the woods yesterday and got covered in seed ticks. I can't wait till those suckers die when it gets colder.

Next Saturday for this old boy!!! But I don't get real pumped 'til October 15 or so. Thats when the big boys start moving through!!!

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

Weather report for opening day is around 85-90 degrees, which is hotter than normal here in Missouri. Plus the seed ticks are absolutely awful. Yesterday my friend must have got into a nest and he probably had 500-1000 seedticks on his arm. We thought it was some kind of powder, then it started to spread. Gives me the chills thinking about it. I'm trying to decide if I should wait until it at least cools down a little or not. Oh well...what do you guys think?

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

First weekend results.

I never got to pull on anything this weekend but it was a great hunt. I had 6-7 deer come by but none were quite withing shooting range. One was a very nice 8 point. I did a little stand adjustment (moved about 40 yards) and should see some results next weekend. All of the deer were moving in the afternoon, I didn't see a thing on Sat or Sun morning.

MO, I would say make sure you go to a army surplus store and pick up some permanone. The stuff works for weeks and had very very little smell. Ticks won't go near you. just make sure you spray it on your clothes and not your skin.

Hey, did you guys see on the "what teams will be in the top 5 " thread?

Nobody is giving us much of a chance!;)

Man, we have some of the best whitetail states covered! That is OK though, just let `em keep thinking that way.

Team # 3......don`t hate us cause you ain`t us!!!:D

BTW, I have cranked out 4 P&Y bucks in the last 5 seasons....and this year should not be any different.

4 weeks in Pike county, Illinois should do the trick!

Good luck guys....and lets make the other teams wish they were us!![8D]

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

Yea they only reason we aren't getting that much credit is because we don't constantly bash other teams like other do. My best chance for a big buck will be on one of my 2 trips to the MO/IA border. Cornfed monsters.

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

Let them all do the talking, we'll do all the walking.:D Just watch our numbers add up when everyones season gets under way. I feel real confident this year. Of course I feel confident at the beginning of every year.:)

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

I agree, doesn't look like we're getting much credit. I have some high expectations for this team. We have a lot of good spots covered. We'll be the sleeper team that nobody will see coming up with the big ones. ;)

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

Well no biggins...Deer didnt cooperate too much. It was hot, mid 80's but great to be back in the woods. Permanone did the trick. No ticks and chiggers to speak of. As things start to cool down, hunting will be more enjoyable and the biggins will be out in full force.

I am heading back out to the woods this afternoon. I am hoping that this last hurricane (Ivan) has had them bedded down for a couple olf days and they will be up and moving. On the plus side, the weather will be a little cooler than last weekend and the wind will be dying down later today. Anybody seeing any good shooters yet?

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

Did you see anything David? I haven't seen anything as of lately but I did set up a treestand in that new spot i told you guys about. I have a REAL good feeling about this area. I set up my camera on the same trail my stand is on and got 13 pictures in 5 days, which is really good for me. I want to run out the rest of the film before I get it developed. But I'll post the pics if there is anything worth seeing. I bought Monster Bucks XI Volumes 1 and 2 off of Ebay for 13.50 last week, so that is all I've been watching. Boy, talk about being pumped for the season. I hope I don't run myself out before the season is here, yeah right. ;)

what's goin on guys. sorry I haven't posted, it was a super long week. I did manage to get up to the lease friday though, and man was it great. I saw well over 200 deer on our property alone and that was only in a 400 acre section. there were turkeys everywhere! I saw several nice bucks and one monster. He was eating under one of my stands!!! Lets hope he is there in 2 weeks. I can't sleep at night... I got it bad.

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

Wow 200 deer! Sounds like you got a ringer. I hope you can get that big buck you saw. Hopefully our team can get off to a good start and be the first to score.

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

Had a great hunt Friday afternoon. The weather played out perfectly. Deer started moving around 6:00 and at one point I had around 14 deer in view. I never did see a big buck that was worth sticking but I did take a very nice 115lb doe. Putting fresh meat in the freezer takes the pressure off. Now I can concentrate on that big fella I spotted a few weeks ago.

Hey guys, did you read the post from HNI Justin about the logos. Everyone has to shrink their logo because it is slowing down the message board. They all have to be smaller than 200x200 or 300x75. dwd2001 can you do this for us? We are at 400x174 right now.

MO_Bowhnter 09-23-2004 07:45 AM

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

I tried to shrink mine last night, but it looks really bad. Maybe dwd can do a better job than me.

Both are too small to read, but that is as far as my resizing knowledge goes. Let me know if someone can do better.

Maybe you all should shoot one of your forked bucks already and replace that dream deer you all have in the picture. I'm sure it will fit then.:D:D:D
