Got it, now all we need is a captain and we're ready to roll this competition.

Hey guys, I can't seem to get the team image in my sig.
I copy the pic but it won't paste to my profile sig box.

Right click on the picture. Highlight and copy the property. Paste the property in your sig box with on either sie of it. No spaces.

who wants to be captain? I don't have quite enough time because I'm a full time student...

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

Yeah I'm a full time student also. If we can't find anyone else that would like to do it, then I will. The sig actually turned out pretty good.

Alright suckers, I'll volunteer, but if we lose this competition because I can't add, I don't want any complaints. I tried to email Big Country to see if he wanted to be captain but got no response. Anyone know Bow Hnt? My Hunting pictures. com has been down for a while now, so if it is still down come season I may need some help uploading pictures. If anyone else wants the fine position of captain. Please feel free to TAKE IT.:D

I just got an email from Mike. I'm guessing that is Bow Hnt. He said he is in and will check in tonight. Now all we need is Mitch (Big Country) to check in and we're set.

My 1st grader is learning how to add multiple numbers so maybe she'll help out too.
Question: 10 hunters each harvest a 120" deer. What is the total number of inches?:D
Answer: Alot more than any other team! HA HA:D:D

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

1200" to be exact but I bet we can hand out about 400" and still coast to a win

Sorry I am late guys - was up nort in MN on vacation and now back to my eyeballs in stuff that needed done yesterday! (sometimes vacation is just not worth it!)

I am Mike - live in W. Des Moines, IA - hunt in SW Iowa. We have several hogs running around on our farm, but they have eluded me so far, but this year - Bubba is on my list.;)

October 1 is our statewide national holiday, but the 6th hopefully will be the day. (my last birthday)

I like the name and sig - now just have to get it loaded!

Joey - are you still working at Cabela's? - have not been on the board very much for a while, so am out of touch.

Good luck to all!!

Jason - you have a rookie here - I may need some help in getting a pic uploaded - I thought I was doing good just figuring out how to get the logo in my sig.

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

Yeah I'm still working at Cabelas, but only 2-3 times a month now. I have another job that is 8-5, 5days a week. This way I can make some more money, but still have the weekends off to do whatever I want, like hunting! I enjoy working there occasionally and also like the discount. I am getting pumped to go hunting. I have been watching a lot of hunting videos lately. I think I am going to try it myself this year. I have 3 buddies that made it on Primetime 8 from last year, so I might give it a whirl for the 1st time this season.

BOW HNT 09-03-2004 01:40 PM

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

I met one of the guys - talked to him in the store - and could not wait to watch the video - sweet buck - they were hunting a couple miles from our farm. We have shot quite a bit of video for turkeys - would have had an awesom video of my first turkey taken with a bow - but the wrong button got pushed[:@]. Have talked about taking it out for deer, but have not done that yet. - may have to this year, either try to rig up a tripod for mine (big old sony view cam) or get a newer smaller one (already have a stabilizer adapter that would work for that - ours it too big and just won't work).

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

I'm still trying to contact Big Country. He hasn't been around for a while, but we could sure use his buck for the contest.

Big Country 09-04-2004 06:12 AM

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

OK guys, I am late...but I made it. Sorry about that, I have been busy as can be.

Hey, how exactly does this deal work? Can I enter a deer killed in a state other than my home state?

Guess I should just look up the contest rules.

Are you guys seeing any good ones?

I just got back from 4 days of scouting in Illinois......saw three bucks over 170"!:D

Deer902 09-04-2004 10:13 AM

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

Glad to see you made it. You have to enter the 1st buck you shoot. Whether it was your home state or not. Feel free to enter one of those 170's you saw in ILL. I haven't seen any bruisers where we hunt but I did get a good tip this week from a non-hunter that has seen a big buck crossing the road where I happened to hang a stand this morning. I put my camera up on the trail and next weekend we'll see what he looks like, Hopefully.

Big Country 09-04-2004 10:24 AM

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

First buck, regardless of state. OK, guess I will have to be careful what I do here in PA then.

I would normally shoot a buck here that I wouldn`t even waste my time filming in Illinois.

I am seing a few good bucks down at the farm this year though, maybe we could get around 140-150 points before I leave for Illinois.;)

One more thing Bob, I will be selling my 2004 XTEC immediately after our late season if you know anybody looking for a slightly used one. Left handed of course.

Deer902 09-04-2004 11:18 AM

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

I thought you might mention that bow. I love the Razortec I got from you last year. I have a lefty who has been buying my used stuff. I'll let him know about yours. Let me know a price. Maybe next year I'll get another from you if your selling. I'm still taking a beating(from the misses) from last years bow. How do you like the Xtec compared to the Razortec?
Heh, we'll take a 140" buck as an entry for the contest. As long as it is big enough to cover my 90" buck.:D:D

Dave Solgat 09-05-2004 11:52 AM

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

Hey guys, does this mean we have a full team of ten, all of our original picks without and alternates???
We must be one of the only teams that don't need an alternate.
I guess when you have a winning team nobody is going to hold out!!!;)

Big Country 09-05-2004 02:15 PM

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

Hey, we have as good a chance as anybody, I think!

We have some excellant whitetail states covered.

Bob, I have not thought about a price for the XTEC? Probably around what you got the RazorTec for last year.

How is that bow shooting for you anyhow?

Deer902 09-05-2004 08:19 PM

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

It's a beaut!!! I haven't had as much time as I would like to shoot it, but a couple nights ago I took it out after not shooting it for about 2 weeks. And I was stacking arrows at 35 yards. I usually can get good groups at that distance but not smacking them like I was.

I think we could take this thing with one or 2 big bucks and a bunch of smaller ones. It's going to come down to how many were taken on each team and not how big.

I hung a stand on Saturday that I have already lost sleep over and I'm going to check out a small out of the way spot tomorrow that I've never seen anybody hunt, because you just wouldn't even think a deer would be in there. But I think the big one is bedded in there.

I also have to check out a farm nearby that has a freakin monster on it. This buck has to go 160" easy. Only problem is, everybody and there mother knows about it and the landowner lets anybody hunt his land. But not too many people hunt it during the week, like I can.

Things are heating up and I can't wait for first day.

RE: Official Team "Non-Typical" (3) Thread

That is for sure - I am pumped! - had not shot my bow to speak of since spring turkey season, not to mention that we had not been to a 3d shoot for over three years! We went to an 84 shot 3d shoot this weekend - WOW did not realize how bad I had gotten - or that far out of shape!

Next weekend I have a bowhunter education class scheduled so I can hunt in the special WDM southwoods area, and we will try to squeeze in another 3d shoot.

Will get out tomorrow and see if we have any pics on the cam - have been having some problems with it - and if it continues - just might end up getting shot!

Season doesn't start here until around October, but I'm going out this Saturday for early muzzeloader. I'm taking my gf out with her buck tag and trying to get her on a nice buck. Shes never been hunting before, but said she wants to go. I'm keeping my bucktag for archery. So finally I get to get back and do a little pre-season scouting.
