Thanks Adams, was proud of her. Four does came by and I had to hold at full draw
for about 2 minutes, did not offer me a good shot. My muscles were burning and
I had to let down while she was right under me. She noticed the movement and took
a couple leaps and stopped quarting away. I drew back and placed the 20 yard pin
a little low and sent the 2314 on it's way. The 85 gr. thunderhead went through the
ribs on entrance and actually exited near the center of the shoulder blade on the other
side then stuck in the ground. First time I actually had an arrow penetrate through
a shoulder blade. Was a fun hunt!
Good luck everyone this weekend.

It seems like not much is going on with this team and the contest. Is everyone hunting on a regular basis? Having trouble with weather? Or just not seeing anything?
I've only been out two times! I can't believe it but my job, my wife's job and our 1 year old are really taking their toll. I had a chance for a doe at 40 yrds on sunday(I have to earn-a-buck), but chose not to shoot as it was pretty windy. Coming out of the stand I saw a pretty good 11 point at 40, and a very wide 8 pt at 50. Both let me get a nice long look with the binoculars before moving into the standing corn. If I get the chance after tagging a doe, that 11 would go down. He wasn't huge but had 3 more scoreable points than the 8, and better tine length. My next chance to get out won't be until Sunday afternoon!!!!

Man do I have a story to tell!!!
Went out opening morning to the farm I have hunted for 8 years. It was family property till last year and was sold to a local farmer. I got permission to hunt the property about 6 weeks before season, so I hung some stands and did my scouting. WELL......
Got out to my stand about an hour before light on opening day. 15 minutes befor light two hunters walk up, "we leased this property two weeks ago, you are going to have to leave"!!!!!!! Turns out this person in the dark is my local bow dealer that I bought my AR from last year! I have been talking with this guy for about a year and a half, showing him my pictures of the deer I have been getting with my deer cam, and telling him my stories of the 10 point I have seen and showed him pictures of. This %%%%%%%&%#%^^& figured out which farmer bought the property I hunted and went out and leased it from him.
I spent the entire morning pulling down my stands, while they followed me around and watched.
Lesson learned!! Looking for new property to hunt. Along with a new archery dealer!!!

Did you talk to the landowner before pulling your stands?? Are you sure this is for real?? You had a verbal contract with the landowner and it was up to " him " to inform you that you no longer could hunt his/her property. If you had it in writting that would have been even better!! Only the landowner had a "right" to end your hunting there. NOT THEM!! Lease or no lease!! What they pulled was dirty. Do you have hunter harassment laws in your state?? I would think this would fall under that. They should have at least let you finish the hunt before even talking to you, contacted you previously or had the owner contact you!! I would have told them... When the landowner tells me I can't hunt here then I will leave. Until then any and all harashment from you guys will be reported to the Warden starting with this incident.
The only thing they could do was contact the landowner to have him contact you since you were granted permission for this year by the landowner. You had every right to be there and it wasn't your responsiblity to contact the landowner from their say so. I wouldn't have left nor pulled my stands until the landowner contacted me.
I would not have made it easy for them at all !! What a bunch of scum!! I would have been POed to say the least. I am POed now and it didn't even happen to me. What a bunch of slobs!! Doing business with them again would never happen and everyone would know about it and why!!
You did at least walk through all the good bedding areas... " looking " for that stand you just can't quite remember was placed. Trust me, I would have walked ever inch of ground wasting their time and " accidently " kicking up deer to make their hunting suck for at least a few days. Three guys walking around can do more damaged then good scenting up the place when it comes to bowhunting.
I hope you find another spot just as good or better. Even though you aren't on my team and not that it matters in the least, I hope you arrow a monster. Should the happen, I know the first place I would go to show it off!!
Good luck on your season.
Tim

AR34,
I feel for you, that is a bad situation. Those guys went about things the wrong way, they are complete jerks. Unfortunatly, that is the way hunting is seeming to go. I can't wait to buy my own land some day, good luck to you the rest of the season.

AR that is crap, plain and simple. It infuriates me![:@]
I haven't gotten out too much. Work, wife and kid have me pretty busy but I'm heading North again tomorrow. I hope to make good on last weeks scouting. I'll be hunting the frindges of the cut and a couple of other locations I scouted out. I hope to get us on the board with something over 100". I know there there and with the rut coming and the cold front I hope to work them into range with my rattle antlers. Good luck to you all this weekend. I've got the taste of blood and there are sharks in the water

That is down right dirty on their part. Scum bags! I would talk to the owner first before
giving up. Make sure every hunter you know knows about what he did to you so it
reflects on his buisness. Honestly, I have been burned is simular ways over the years
and have learned to keep it to myself if I find a big buck or sign of a big buck in the
area. I have a friend I took hunting to one of my good spots I found. Well before long
he was calling it OUR spot. Then I find out he is taking several of his work buddies
to MY spot hunting. Those buddies didn't even belong to our hunting club!!! Needless
to say we don't hunt together much anymore. I hope you find some good land to hunt.
West Virginia bow season opens Oct. 16th so I will be hunting there for the first week
of the season. I have been scouting there and the bucks are just starting to rub
tree's this past week and the leaves are starting to brighten up and fall. For me and
my son it's the best time to be in the woods. Good luck hunting Team-14

sorry fellas, been helping brother in law build his house, only been getting out 2 days a week, this morning was the first time in 6 trips that I had a buck in shooting range, a 5 and a 7 came in at 20 yards hitting on the acorns hard. Let em go though both were 1 1/2 yr olds.
AR hey man, that is a real bad story dude, I think you should post his buisness name on here, and let everyone know, maybe you have some hunters on here from your area. Plus, I'd tell every person that would listen what happened even non hunters, they might tell someone they know that hunts, not to support his buisness!! If your local bow dealer is like mine, all it would take would be for 10 or 12 guys to stop supporting him, and he'd go under. Plus, (and you didnt hear me say this cause I would never think of doing it) I'd make sure he had plenty of dryer sheets spread near all of his stands hidden under the leaves of course!!

yea real bad deal. I hope for the good of hunters that this deal was a coincidence. Sure didnt look like that opening morning. I have calmed down enough now to go talk with him, so I plan to do that this week.
One good thing, Thurs. I finaly got to see some horns on my new hunting property. Finished my morning hunt and did a little scouting before heading to work. Kick up two bucks in some thorny, thick grass. Dont say it. But i sure wish I had carried my bow with me!!!! I said dont say it! One was a small 8pt and the other was a larger, could have been an 8pt. I could have got off a shot on the smaller one, had I had my bow.DUMB DUMB DUMB
I have a new stand in that area now and will be prepaired next time.
Good luck to all, We need to get on that board.

That does suck! Maybe considering the circumstances they would let you in on the lease?[&:]
Had a fun afternoon yesterday. I dont know if anyone else is seeing this type of rut activity yet but it's certainly been unusual around here. I had a basket rack 6pt chasing two doe last night. I heard two bucks going at it pretty goog about 50 yards behind me , been hearing lots of grunting , and I got grunted at on the way out of the woods last night in the dark , that was scary. Deer movement slowed way down around the last week of Sept but it's starting to pick up pretty good again. There might be something to that full moon theory.
Good luck guys!
