Hey BM

I was reading back through the threads reading all the smack and saw the post where you mentioned the bucks you have taken. How come you don't have any of the posted in the gallery? Just a couple does and a small buck in there.

I wanted to check them out.

I rattled in a big bodied 6pt yesterday morning. He had a tiny tiny rack with a real curly G2 - kinda wierd!

I'm holding out for one of the monsters on my private property. I'll be hunting a special permit only hunt Dec 6 and 7 at a place that has never been open to hunting before. Supposedly, the next IL state record will come out of this park. So don't count me out until the end. I've seen a lot of good deer - just waiting for a real nice one. It wouldn't make sense to shoot a 6pt 100" when I have the chance at something massive later in the season.

The activity has kind of slowed down from the same time last week. Last week we seen many bucks trailing does. But then over the weekend we seen many bucks grouped up and not one chasing a doe.

Hopefully next week when I am on vacation, it will be hot hot hot!!

Good evening guys.Just got home from a weeks hunting with the gang.We got 8 out of 9,not bad i dont think,a few nice bucks and does.Skinned them out yesterday and butchered them with the guys yesterday, had 8 done in about 4.5 hours. One week left of rifle season here and i'll be back at her for the remainder of the time it takes me to get my buck.I just may go in area 64 this week as bow is open for another week then rifle for a week and the rest archery till the end of december.Glad to get back out with the archery gear.It snowed today and getting colder.I am starting to see some scrapes and rubs now,and i think the rut will be starting soon,by next week im sure.this is the time of year i really get pumped and real serious.good luck guys.

Had another close encounter last evening with the same mature buck I was eye to eye with last week.
He and another buck were following a doe around in an open field while I was sitting on the ground.
They stayed just out of range then walked off.
Its frustrating hunting a wide open flat field without trees... but one day it will pay off.
These bucks are BIG

I don't believe I have ever seen Rack-Attack this quiet for so long... Is he okay? Anyone hear anything from him?

Well fellas, my vacaton starts this afternoon. I will be hunting in the best part of the rut as far as I can tell. Bucks are chasing, scrapes are being hammered, and my dad arrowed a monster yesterday. After hour and hours of tracking...I think he is going to make it for a while. Never had any good blood, and dad spooked him 2 hours after the shot and he ran a mile across a field at full tilt. We got permission for that farmer to look in his property and we found a couple of spots of blood where it looked as if he layed down. Walked the whole timber and no deer. Spooked plenty out though, and he rocognized one of them as a possibility as his. Me and my buddy will do a little more looking over the weekend in hopes of finding him yet.
