Hazcon,

i got it BAD this year.... YES its close now.. less than 18 hours to go for light.

hey i should be a SORE member.. i designed and made a tennis ball launcher out of PVC, DUBBED the MOAL 250, for Mother Of All Launchers and the 2.50 is the diameter in inches they are. we also made a barrel for it to shoot 1" superballs with...
we made it with a 12" long by 3" diameter pvc, with an inlet fitting like a bicycle tire and a guage, and a pop-off valve for added saftey... YES i can put 125psi into that canister and with the touch of my blow-gun trigger and teh 3/4" sprinkler valve (modified of course) i can shoot a tennis ball at an astounding 171 FPS (feet per second) thats about 200 yards shot with a tennsi ball! , although that PAILS in comparison to that of the superball barrel... yeah we chrono'd the superball as moving at a whoping 551 fps! [&:] WHOA.. we were like uhhh we shouldnt shoot those anymore...

it hit a brick wall, and liquified! it was superball jelly!

i will try to get some pictures of my friend and I execising his dog with the MOAL 250! and it was like only 75$ to make! (compressor not included.)

Hello guys, sorry its been a while since i have been on but work and family life and the young guy in hockey is keeping me real busy.
I just got in from shooting my bow and i am good to go.Sorry only thing I need is a new grunt call, looked at the one i had last year and the reed is missing, must be somewhere in the bush.
Got my cloths all washed, bag is all packed, bow in case and I will be outta here saturday morn(have to work tomorrow[])
If most guys are like me then you will be up at 4 in the morn and leaving driveway by 4:30,and sitting in stand by 5:15,meaning this time tomorrow night I will have a 7 hour sleep,or maybe sleepless thinking of all the big bucks running around---lol.
I want to wish all you guys luck tomorrow or saturday,or whatever comes first.
The weather network says rain all day, unless its a downpour,i'll be out there looking for the big buck we all dream of
GOOD LUCK TEAM ILNYPAKY-EH------go get him

What an awesome opening morning - Fan-Friggin-tastic!!!!

I hunted my PVC stand blind, got in the blind at 5:30am and started setting up everything.
30 minutes before daylight I started hearing deer walking in the cut beans but couldn't see them. I was using one of those game ear amplifiers and boy did it do the trick.
When I could finally see them (almost 1/4 mile away) there were 7 deer walking single file between the corn and beans (black horizontal line in the center of the pic above) heading towards the triangle patch and feeding along the way.

It was still to dark to see if they were bucks or does so I didn't get too excited.
Then they disappeared south of the triangle patch for about 30 minutes.
There was a slight south wind which was perfect for my location, as i was just north of the triangle patch.

Meanwhile in the west cornfield I watched a 150class buck chasing a doe around.

Movement inside the triangle patch, 1 2 3 4 bucks all 4 to 6 points - followed by 2 does??? - and then the big boy comes in - about a 130class 8 point that looked like he was sporting a mule deer rack. At this point I can't tell if I'm shaking because its cold out or from 'the fever', either way my blind was shaking a bit and I thought for sure I'd get busted. Well the big boy beds down right out in open view from my blind and only about 60 yards away.

2 of the smaller bucks squared off and started smackin antlers. 1 of the does walked over to big boy and put her foot on his rear - which pissed him off pretty good, so he chased her away in a huff but she didn't go far. Then the other 2 bucks started smacking antlers. All of this within 60 yards of my blind.

So for the next 2 hours I was forced to sit there and watch the deer play, bed, play, bed, lick a branch, bed, and a lot of butt licking - what a rough morning

Well the deer never did come in to range. The wind picked up to about 20mph and they eventually disappeared.

Just came home to get something to eat/drink and I'm heading out to the big woods to do a little stalk hunting the wind in my ghillie suit.

By the way - batteries were dead in my camera[:@] otherwise would have had some very exciting pictures to share. I won't make that mistake tomorrow

Good Luck All!

But on a brighter note, my father shot a nice fat doe. 120 pounds field dressed. He was at one end of the property and I was on the other.

Well I went out again this morning to hunt the big 8 point I saw yesterday. The wind was strong out of the north early so I decided to still hunt just south of the triangle patch and wait for the deer to work their way towards me...

... well I ended up sitting down 20 feet from where the 8 point was bedded - apparently with a north wind the south side of the patch was a great place to bed out of the wind - um duh! Well he didn't know I was there and I didn't know he was there for about 30 minutes. Right at dawn he stands up and walks towards my right side. He saw me the same time I saw him and we had a 5 minute stare down - but he won. My bow was on the ground on myleft side since thats where I expected to see the deer coming from.

There are at least 5 more giant bucks out there - all of which are 12point or higher - so I'll try to hunt again this evening if the wind dies down a bit - otherwise I'll give the place a break for a week or so.

I saw 4 other deer but none close.
