i have shot alot the last week or so , but i jsut got my string serving fixed , so i was out for a week or so with that... i will shoot more and more until season...

I havent even seen RACK around the boards at all for a good while!

Sorry i havent been on this weekend at all,its been real busy here all weekend moving my mother and a few other small things.
I will be on everyday now though keeping an eye on all the smack and waiting for someone to post some pics of there deer.I have read through the posts and noticed everyone is really getting anxious about the opener,me to as well,Im driving the wife crazy with all the talk and cant seem to sit still at all.Everyone talking deer hunting at work,me included,isnt helping much at all either
I called the shop today and got some new carbon express cx 300 arrows ordered today,cant wait to get shooting them,said they should be in this wednesday or thursday at the latest.

I haven't sent the stickers out yet - Sorry to drop the ball on that one! Work has been very busy, as you probably haven't seen me online in a while. I have limited computer time at home since the wife and kids take up most my time (that is until Oct 1.) But I will make a strong attempt to get them done today or tomorrow. Sorry guys!

OK, I've got the stickers and pictures printed and the envelopes addressed and stamped.
Will go out with tomorrow mornings mail!

no worries. you spend some time with your family... as we all know you wont be around much when hunting season comes around... Hell if your wife is anything like mine shes gonna be happy to get me out of the house just so she doesnt have to hear about any more hunting stuff! all shes been doing latley is asking me when i can stop talking about opening day! she jokes bacuse everytime she doesnt hear from me within 20 minutes she walks around the house and when she finds me im reading something hunting related... she says im addicted... i say its far far worse than that. but im sure she will enjoy the peice and quiet around teh house while im gone!

anyway good luck everyone whos able to hunt this week and hope to see some bucks posted by saturday!

Well I have a dilemna (spelling?)

Can only shoot 2 bucks per year in Illinois. I will be bowhunting private land with some awesome bucks and have a firearm permit to hunt the same place. So far easy right??
Well I just drew a special bowhunt permit to hunt a private park in Illinois. This large park has only been open to hunting for one other year and then/still only a limited amount get a tag - also its earn a buck. I was very very fortunate to draw a tag for Dec 6- Dec 10. So here lies my problem. 3 great tags, only 2 bucks allowed. Whats a guy to do???

it involves you and the rest of teh illinois boys getting together for a party! we will help ya fill those tags Hazcon.. dont you worry! oh and its TWO bucks for archery and i think you get one for shotgun aswell. at least thats what my local proshop was telling me. he says he is allowed to take 3 bucks this year two with bow and one with shotgun....

unfortunatly i am only able to hunt bow in two of the areas i have.. they are both archery only. BUT the good news is this. i am able to riffle hunt this year up north.. cant wait to get up there.. i am borrowing my great uncles .308.... its a NICE gun he says it has too much kick for him because its new and doesnt have a huge stock on it.. his loss i say...

Well unless they changed the rule from last year, they only allow 2 bucks per person combined, regardless of weapon. I'll have to re-read the handbook but I'm pretty sure that is still true.

Well guys,

This afternoon I decided to head down and check the spot that I will probablly be hunting on the first morning and it is looking great. The set-up with be in a funnel of woods about 50 yards wide with a huge hillside at the top that is nothing but small crab apple trees mixed with multi-floral rose (probablly the best bedding area around), and at the bottom of the funnel it opens up to the big woods where there is a thick patch of pines which was timbered a long time ago and the deer bed in the deadfalls. To the west of this stand is a huge corn field and to the right is my BioLogic Green Patch Plus/Clover Plus food plot. The tree I will be hunting has a heavy trail that about 15 yards from it and this trail is surrounded in rubs already! From this tree, I will have a shot at any deer that funnels down through the woods. I will have a 20 yard shot in front of me and a 30 yard shot behind me. My shooting lanes from last year are still good to go, and the tree I will be in is perfect, there is some limbs that are gonna cover me up pretty well. The trees surrounding my stand are all white oaks and the deer will browse all through the area.

It is looking pretty good, now if I can get the big 12 or the big 8 to come past on Oct. 2nd, I will be a happy hunter
