Just stopped in to say hello to everyone. Its wednesday evening and all the yard work is done, grass is mowed, cleaned out the rain gutters and raked up the few leaves in the front yard--lol.
Well The wife and kids and I went for a drive on monday evening and I saw a nice 8 point and the massive 10 I have been seeing periodically for a while now(only 1/2 mile from my hunting grounds:)).Hopefully he come my way,but not getting to worried about it,I know there are alot of nice deer on my property now as it is. I have a new spot now,on another piece of property I hunt, actually found it on saturday. It is bordered by mississippi river, and a long swamp that goes through the property. There I will be hunting a ridge made up of maples, spruce and pine.I think It will be a great spot for the rut as alot of big bucks like the swamp and thick tangles they call home.I will use this spot later in the season If i havent taged out before then. Sure wish all of you guys didn't live so far away as you would always be welcome to hunt with me,maybe someday some of us will. Well i gotta go now, everyone take care and good luck:) |

Hey guys
Well, there is bad news in PA! Tonight while checking out my bow, I noticed that my top limb has a small crack in it! Friday I have to go to the pro-shop and get that situation taken care of. Right now, I am shooting my bow at 29.5" with a string loop, but I think I am gonna order a 30" draw module and shoot off the string. Also, gonna pick up a dozen arrows, some b-heads, and get some string leechs for on it. Hopefully I can get this all resolved and have my bow ready by Oct. 2nd. Wish me luck guys and I'll let ya'll know what happens! |

buck magnet, dont you have a bowtech? its lifetime warranty. have your proshop send it in and they will fix it ASAP. just make sure you call them and let em know that your are in need of it as soon as they can get it out. they might even send the pro shop the new limbs.... good luck keep us posted! hopefully we hear from you before oct 2nd!
i thought you had a liberty? i will have to check my limbs now too. god i hope i dont have a crack... i love that bow... not that it will slow me down or anything i have two other PSE's but i like my bowtech better. just feels better. Hazcon7 give us an update on the whole where you will be hunting. havent heard anything yet! ;) |

I'm hunting a major travel route along a drainage ditch in the middle of agriculture fields. This is the only water for many miles and the only trees in a 5 mile radius. During the rut the bucks here are unbelievable. They travel the ditch searching for does and the buck to doe ratio is over the top. Last year in one day I counted 12 bucks and only saw 5 does here, even though I know there were more of each. My stand is set up along high grass along the ditch and between 2 scrub trees. (all the scrub trees along the ditch are tore up from rubs) The little triangle patch is a 1 acre bedding area with a perimeter of dense scrub trees with openings at each of the 3 points, the main opening is facing my stand. ( I don't have permission to hunt the big woods to the east but I have permission to access the triangle patch as needed.) I've talked to the farmers and the corn will be cut before October 1st which should force the deer to stay along the ditch and woods. The beans will be left up until probably late October but will definately be gone by rut. From my stand I can see everything for about a 2 mile radius, especially down the ditch where the deer travel most. I'll also be hunting some public woods in 2 other counties. |

Do you all actually think that these other teams believe that I would give away the biggest deer on my property...especially after all this trash talk. I promise you this...if it takes into November, I'll post one that will make even Buckeye go AWWWWW. He's here and I'm gonna post him.
Saturday is a full day away and weather is gonna be in the fifties. Deer are going to be moving more. Big 8 may hit the dirt. Kelly Sneek Peek... ![]() |

Well guys, GREAT news here!
Today I had a buddy of mine check out my bow (he use to run a pro-shop) and after a thorough examination, I don't have a cracked limb. The crack I see is actually just the camo finish, but it scared the crap out of me. The bow is fine and will be ready for season! The moral of the story is to check your bow, and no matter what, get any unusual marks checked out, they could be just cosmetic flaws like mine (thank god) but they could be something worse. Now, tonight I got out to go spotting and we went out to my best-friends uncles. There was a bachelor group of 3 bucks (all 8 points) hanging out right outside the woodline from where our food plot is. The biggest 8 was probablly in the 16" range with good mass and decent tine length. He would probablly go around 100"-110" range, not a shooter this year, but he has some potential. Well, we went to the other side of the farm and there were two doe and two bucks bedded together. The small buck was a little 8 point, a little 1-1/2 year old that has good potential. The bigger buck is what was the high point of the evening. He is a young deer, probablly 2-1/2 years old, and he has a perfectly typical 10 point frame that is about 16" wide. His mass wasn't bad, nothing great, tine length wasn't anything special, I would guess his brows to be around 1-1/2", G-2's in the 6" range, G-3's in the 5" range, and his G-4's were probablly in the 3" range. He definetly has some great potential to be a bruiser in two or three years! All the bucks were saw were out of velvet. My best friends uncle got a roll from his game cam tonight and it is getting developed. If there are any nice buck pics I will scan them for you guys to see. Kcison, go smack that bad boy. I wish you the best of luck, that is a bruiser of an 8 pt. |
