Default |HELP/ADVICE

I need some help/ advice from you guys. A few days a go i posted a thread long the lines of I have had a Horton 150 Explorer XL for three years, and was looking to upgrade this offseason. Im goin to stick with Horton and had my eyes on the Team Realtee, but was told that it was basically the same as the Explorer and would not be much of an upgrade and was recommended the Hunter or Legend. Still, I liked the Team Real Tree model because it DId look the same as my Horton and I would be accumstomed to the grip and feel. and the Legend and Hunter look a little bigger and bulkier than the Explorer and Team Real tree, What do you guys think? IF you feel that i am no doing myself no good by choosing the Team Real Tree please let me know and what you guys feel i should upgrade to

I hate to be the first one to respond to this since I was the one who gave you some of the advice last time. I hope some ones else can chime in and give you some info. I did do a little more looking and seen they offer the Real tree in 175# now and not just the 150#. If you went with the Realtree you would gain by their charts 35 FPS. But IMO it is still the same CB pretty much, just the barrel is a little longer giving you a longer power stroke and adding the FPS. Still the same stock, same limbs. You just have to decide is the money spent worth the reward? I would hate to see you open the box and think you did not get what you wanted in a "upgrade". IMO the Machined Aluminum Barrel and newer style limbs and cams are a "upgrade". Go to the web site and compare and see what you think.

Hope others may chime in and give a opinion too.

THanks hotburn, i did notice the difference in the draw weight; 175 vs. 150 and thats really the only difference. As i said before, what attracts me to the RT is that its build, grip, etc is so similar to the Explorer, but thats what you are saying in that the have the same stock and same limbs. So i'm still a little confused because of the prices, i think the RT is around 499, and the Hunter is 699? and i cant think off the top of my head as to waht the Legend is. IF i were to chose from the Hunter and Legend, i compared the two and see that the Hunter has a Mass Weight:7.9 lbs and aLength: 32 3/4 vs. the Legend : Mass Weight: 7.2 lbs. Length: 33 1/2. with the Hunter having about 5 more #'s of energy than the Legend. The differences is the weight and legnth are miniscule, IMO, so which do you feel is the better bow?

The main difference is the Machined aluminum barrel. Any high end CB has that on it. Excal, Ten Point, Bow Tech and even the higher end Horton's. Why they do not put it on all of them I do not know. To me the composite barrel just seems to cheap to me. That is just my feeling but I like the metal barrel. You also get a few more FPS, a little more KE, but a little more weight to. The barrel is the main difference though. You still get their best trigger, cams and limbs. You do not get some of that with the RT. Don't frown to much on what AWSHUCKS said, I love my Excal and glad I have one! You can also get all them great features on a Excal Phoenix for around 300 bucks too!
