Your Master Eye!

Your Master Eye!
I go for lazer surgery on my right eye tomorrow,my hunting partner had
the same surgery and cannot see a scope with his right eye any more.
If that happened can a person shoot left handed with his master eye
closed or is it all over,I have tried to get him to try my xbow but he
has given up and wont try.If you have your master eye closed you
should be able to use a scope, was wondering if any one else has had
this problem,thanks!

RE: Your Master Eye!
My son in law lost his right (master) eye in an accident. He shoots using his left eye just fine (including rifles and shotguns). He uses high scope rings and a stocks with minimal comb. I'm guessing a scalloped stock, like the one on my Vortex, would make it easier to get left eye allighnment. In fact, the first two shoots he shot with my bow were a "robin hood."
Good luck.
Good luck.

RE: Your Master Eye!
I had a friend that had your surgery and for some people they are screwed but you will be OK since it is on your right eye, and I assume you currently use your right eye for scopes right? Don't take this wrong but doing it on only one eye is the cheaper way to go, I would like to have it done, but it is expensive and if I do not do it on both I don't want it done. People don't realize it but your master eye is what they use 24/7, except when the other is closed, your brain turns off the signals from the non dominate eye and your brain only processes the info from the master eye. My friend is in the same boat as yours, he did not understand the "details" before the surgery. I assume your friend had the surgery on his left eye and his left eye was the dominate one, you canbe left eye dominate and still shoot just fine with your right eye before surgery that is. The problem is when they do this surgery and they do it on your left eye, and your vision is perfect and life seems great. They never did his right eye, so inhis right eye hestill had real bad vision, he was a classic coke bottle guy and with out his glasses his right eye was useless with his left closed. So when he first tried to use a scope like your friend did with hisright eye he was screwed with out his old glasses! You are having it on your right eye so you should be just fine. Now if you tell me your friend had it done on his right eye also and he shoots with his right eye I have no idea what his problem is but the above story is what happened to my friend. The doctor that did your friendwas eitherto stupid to study his patients before surgery, your friend did not listen to the details before surgery, or the doctor did not care and just wanted your friends money regardless of his lifestyle! To correct it your friend will have to have a clear lens put in the eye that had the surgery since it is or should be 20/20. Then still have the prescription lens for his non surgery eye and wear the glasses for hunting, it worked for my friend, he just looks weird with the glasses on and one eye looks bigger then the other!
Sorry this is on a old post but I was camping all weekend and just came home. Seen lots of fun post but did not want to post on them and re-lite the fires that look to be put out!! LOL!!
