Great Practice!!
I have been tossing outBud cans from me treestands in the back yard and popping them with Judo points. One good thing is there is a limiting factor in how far you can throwan "empty" Bud can. If you can chuck an empty 30 ydsyou are just about gonna cripple your throwing arm.
I can also toss them over my shoulder, drop them on the ground behind me or set up some challenging shots for my offside shoulder.
You may loose an arrow or two but if you get 50 shots out of a $7.50 arrow your doing good. It's a blast and really helps on figuring range.
PS..... Don't empty the cans while your in the tree..
PSS... Don't use G5 small game points...
PSSS.. Watch for ricocete(sp) on plastic bottles like snaple
PSSSS.. You Canadians can use empty Molsen cans if you can drink the stuff..LOL
I also have a couple of stands only a foot or two off the ground for practice. It's good practice as I think you should fire alot of arrows from your stand and has the added benefit that it's a short trip down to the ground...

RE: Great Practice!!
Someone finally found a use for American beer!
I tried a few shots from my roof with broadheads into a block target, didn't find much of a difference in POI.. I suppose the real practice would be maneuvering the bow while elevated..
