Alot of hog hunting is at night if they are feeding nocturnal, same goes for calling fox or yotes into a blind. I got a rig from Cabelas, switch tapes to stock, light mounts on top of scope via clamp. there's a few different models, the low end ones wouldn't put out enough light for my V-zone at 30 yds.

ARCHERY: Longbow and compound bows are allowed for hunting any game. Any bow used for hunting deer and bear must have a minimum pull of 40 lbs. Only broadhead type arrows are legal for deer hunting. Crossbows are not legal for hunting any species except by special permit issued by the Department. A crossbow hunting permit is issued only for hunting deer to persons with permanent, medically determinable physical impairments that precludes use of a traditional, hand-held bow. Disabled persons should contact the License Unit, 2189 Northlake Pkwy., Building 10, Suite 108, Tucker, GA 30084 (770/414-3333) for crossbow permit applications.
So, are you going to SHINE deer at night?

I don't hunt in the daytime, let alone nighttime..
However, I practice for far more hours a day than the sun will allow.
Whats with deer and light? Lost me on that one..

I did, I just don't see where deer fit into the original question.. Once it was determined that it can't be done something was said about shining a light on a deer.. That lost me.
Pretty much everything I own has had a light attached to it at one point or another.
Perhaps this thread isn't for me.. Sure looked like it though..

Well, the Post about Georgia says: Crossbows are to be used on Deer only by Disabled Hunters!
Now will you kindly Post a State that hunting Deer at night is Legal?
Down here in the South, everyone knows what is meant by going to Shine Deer? (To Poach At Night With A Light).

I didn't buy my crossbow to hunt, I bought it because I thought it looked neat. The wanting to hunt part came later, everything I know about hunting came from what I read on this forum.
I live in Canada, now. I am American, born and raised in Detroit, owned homes in Florida, south Carolina and rented for a short time in Savannah Georgia.
Hunting terminology was never part of my vocabulary.
I have never heard theterm "shining" until your post.
I would not be able to direct you to the link/information you seek about night hunting.
Not "everyone" down south has heard the term "shining" just those in the hunting circle, or connected to it.
