I didn't buy my crossbow to hunt, I bought it because I thought it looked neat. The wanting to hunt part came later, everything I know about hunting came from what I read on this forum.
I live in Canada, now. I am American, born and raised in Detroit, owned homes in Florida, south Carolina and rented for a short time in Savannah Georgia.
Hunting terminology was never part of my vocabulary.
I have never heard theterm "shining" until your post.
I would not be able to direct you to the link/information you seek about night hunting.
Not "everyone" down south has heard the term "shining" just those in the hunting circle, or connected to it.
