Default Starfire 2 Xbow

My girlfriends dad just told me that he was trying to get rid of his old cross bow and all I was wondering is if the Starfire 2 xbow was deccent....it has a 150 lb pull and he said he'd sell it to me for $100 with arrows and everything.....he has only shot it like 10 times....I want to start to get into hunting as I have never had the time because of wrestling in highschool I have a compound bow but I hurt my shoulder and cant pull it back consistantly anymore which is why I want a xbow....just some opinions please.

Hey yost, I have a PSE Starfire 2. Got it new, probably 25 years ago. Was very good bow then. I hung it on the wall for a few years and even though I have had a local bow shop do a little work on it, it will no longer shoot well at all. Bolts fly everywhere. So I would not recommend it.
I'm saving up for an Excalibur!!!!!!!

I just got a 8 point buck with mine 10/15/22, bought it in 1988 and it still drives nails ! ! I shoot it 3 or 4 times before season to make sure it's hitting where it should be and then I don't touch it unless I'm shooting at a deer. All parts still PERFECT. Got the scope rail and a red dot on it and it's still the Cat's-A**..I think PSE made the limbs out of suspension leafs out of one of their delivery trucks ! ! LOL It's a heavier bow but I'm not a whimp. I can carry it AND drag a deer out at 63.................Good Luck
PS: If you Starfire is shooting all over the place, make sure there is no wobble or play in the cams. That will screw up the works.
