Default The BLOCK

i have heard some good things about the BLOCK targets but i hear that they came out with a BLOCK for crossbow hunters. does anyone have one yet? i know that the regular bow hunters can shoot good into them but i know that us xbow hunters have bigger badder bows that bury the bolts into the fletchingscould you use a regular BLOCK or would you have to get the crossbow model?

If you look down the main page a little you will see a topic I started called "Crossbow Targets". There is some good info in there on different brands that guys are using. When I got my new CB I spent seventy bucks on the Xbow Block. I was dissapointed in it! It is a good target and I believe that it will last me for a long time. The problem is that it does not do what it advtized. They said on handed arrow removal and that is not the case with mine. I have to lay the block down on its back and put one knee on it and pull hard, about two thirds or three fourths is going in at twenty yards. At ten yards it sinks in all the way to the fletchings and takes two hands and my fletchings get messed up after a while so I do not shoot at ten yards. Also I shot a muzzy at it at twenty yards, stoped it the same. When I pulled the arrow out a nice six inch layer of the foam came out with it! now i have a spot that if I hit it again it will probally go in past the fletchings. I like the target, works for stoping, but does not do as advertized. I had a hanging bag target for my old horton that worked fine, the arrows would almost fall out of it, but my new bow blew right threw it. Didn't go far, was laying on the ground about five feet behind the target but that is why I decided to switch to the block. Good luck on what you get and keep us updated on when the new bow arrives.

squirrelkilla23, There is nothing I know of thet will stop a broad head and is practical to use that does not dull them, some more than others.
I feel it is best to keep a seperate set of arrows for practice. My hunting arrows are carefully checked for strightness and run out of the point and edge of the point and are shot only at live game,I normally take two deer a year with a bow and it has been over 30 yers since I hit one and lost it. I had the exact same experience with the Xbow Block target Hotburn 76. Again, 70 dollors worth. Couldn't hardly pull out the bolts from my scorching Ten Point Xbow. I emailed the company and complained about false advertising on it and they said I could sent it back for a refund but I kept it but don't use it. I bought a large piece of foam from a local foam dealer near my home. It's plain white and it works great. It's not layered, colored, not printed with any targets on it, no brand name on it, and it only cost 5 bucks. LOL. Go figure! (magic markets draw great targets on white foam anyway.)

A box full of rags is hard to beat and its cheap all I ever use for both target and broadheads.
