Had a food saver el-cheepo(on sale about $100) for about 5 yrs. It's still suckin and vakin. I just bought 1 roll and 2 boxes of qrt bags.

I love the thing. I vac all my venison and anything else I want to keep for weeks,months and not freezer burn (jerky,veggies,fish,chicken,pork,left over turkey etc...). I have a special recipe for cranberry sauce that everybody loves. Can't buy any cranberrys after December around here. I just vac'd 6 bags of cranberrys last week for future use.

I learned early on you gotta let it warm up after you plug it in or you'll over work the unit tryin to seal. Also keep the sealing lip clean and bag clean or your just wastin your time tryin to seal a bag. When mine takes a crap someday I wan't to upgrade to unit that holds a roll inside,does canisters and works faster. They've come way down in price in last 2-3 years.
