Might as well keep this topic going...
Tonight I'm making a venison roast. I started marinating it on Sunday. The marinade is olive oil, Ken's Italian Dressing, garlic, and sherry. Before I put the roast in the marinade, I cover it liberally with onion powder.
I'll take it out of the marinade and wrap it in bacon and cook it on low in the crock pot for about 6 hours.
Since our school was cancelled today, I have the whole day to work on it...or go rabbit hunting. Sometimes it's nice being a teacher.

Were having rabbit tonight. Last night I used the rest of the hamburger and a leftover smoked pork roast and ground them together. It didn't come out very well. Too smokey. I wish rabbit season was still open here as this is my last one. BTW, why is school out today? Good Luck. Capt Brad.

Capt Brad, we had a good rain yesterday...then the temp dropped to about 10 overnight. Combined with about 3" of snow and 25mph wind the roads are a little nasty. It's not really all that bad, but we get 5 days a year to use, and we haven't used any yet. They weren't taking any chances. I'm not complaining!

Pro-line,
Keep it going. I'll post every night it's my turn to cook.
Tonight we're having smoked deer sausage (my buddy processes it in his kitchen and makes it SPICY) and a fresh spinach salad with mushrooms and my home made dressing.

I didn't go rabbit hunting. I went and looked at guns and bought a turkey decoy.
I was considering going until I went outside. The windchill is way below zero and the snow is blowing sideways. Isn't fit for man or beast.
Hunt4Fun, I'm home from work by 3...So I cook every night. I love cooking, I just don't like dishes...so that's our tradeoff.

Last night, we had New York strips and fried shrimp, sweet potato's, and broccoli. Tonight it was fried chicken, fried okra, and sweet potato bisquits. I was glad too as we have eaten either deer, goose or rabbit almost every day since Nov. 1st. Good Luck. Capt Brad.
