Default Locking Shoulder in

I read that when holding the bow and drawing when reaching full draw you should lock the shoulder of the hand that is holding the bow. Is this true? I am currently trying it and it seems to steady the arm thus helping my accuracy. School is still out though. I am fairly new at archery and am always tinkering with things to try and get better. Is this good? I think this is going to be a lifelong adventure.

when i shoot my best my shoulder is down and relaxed. i come to full draw, anchor, relax, and then do all my aiming by moving my hips. when i aim with my bow arm i'm not consistent at all.

Too be honest the only time I have trouble is when my bow arm shoulder is up. Other than that I have never noticed. This is the first year that I have not changed something major on my form. Looking forward to kickin' some butt.

I'm like ewolf; I just haven't ever noticed. I guess after you do it for a while, it is automatic and the only thing that I'm noticing is the target and the pin.

I'm pretty sure your bow shoulder is supposed to be down and relaxed. This also helps the forearm from getting whacked.

But correct me if i'm wrong..

BUT HEY, I CAN"T EVEN SEE STRAIGHT< SO DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT>>

I like relaxed and steady. So yea, I guess you can call it locked, but I like to add, relaxed.
