Put a earth sented waffer in with my clothes this year and sunday morning in my stand saw probably 12 deer within 10yrds but all seemed to know i was there, have you had any luck even bad luck with this stuff? Should i go back to the neutralizer, or is this earth sent a good thing?

Well myself I like the wafers. Ive had good success with the wafers and ive had bad. The good success is when I use fresh wafers (buy new every year). another is when I dont use to many I usually put 1 in with clothes and when im dressed I hang 1 on each side of boots. when I get to the stand and get set up I put 1 on utility rope and lower down to about 3 ft off the ground. and usually put the other back in the container and spray down with a scent neutralizer. The bad is using last years wafers, and using to many at one time. I think its to much scent when you use to many wafers. My question is how high are you getting into your stand and do you have alot of cover. I usually get between 20 and 25 ft and try to find a tree with a lil cover behind it. you said that they busted you. I was just wondering ??

I have had real good luck with the fresh earth wafers. One thing is to be sure to use fresh ones and don't use last years. I have also noticed that they are hard to find after the season starts here. They always seem to be sold out so that tells me that other people must really like them too?

I was up hunting in hills and thought the deer would becoming below me but they were running the ridge at my height. Also there was no breeze. I think they saw me move more than anything, you know how bugs and elmer on looney toons are elmer looks one way and bugs pops out behind him thats what it was like seriously, almost funny. It was wet and i wouldnt here them come I would look west and as I slowly turned to the east i would bust some from the east 10 yards from me and vise versa. It was heavy cover, i just didnt expect them to come from where they were, so i moved my stand up to the top of the ridge were I still have a shot at the faint trail i was watching hoping for that monster, but also have a shot at the ridge. I am going to leave that stand alone for about a week or two to let things calm down and will hit it again. The good news I also used some of those sex waffers to store my montana decoy, had a young buck going nuts over that, just not quite big enough yet, so i do know those do work.
thanks guys

I have two packages of the earth scent wafers. One that I use as an air freshener in my car and the other I hang on my bow hanger while hunting. The one I use while hunting is 10 years old and smells as strong as the ones I bought this year. I don't get busted so I don't think it matters if they are old or not.

I use them the same as the other do in this thread, and find them to work great. i use them in another way and found this to work great. I normally buy about 3 to 4 packs when i can find them in the stores. When I wash my hunting clothes in the scent free detergent, I dry my clothes in the dryer with one or two wafers instead of dryer sheets. I have found that this impregnates the clothes with the fresh earth smell. The wafers i use solely for the dryer normally only last about two to three in the dryer then loose their strength. Just thought I would throw this option out there. It works awesome for me.
