Whitetail The Ultimate Challenge is a book written by Charles J. Alsheimer. This book is loaded with useful information for the hunter. Some of the secrets he has used are freshening a deer scrape with his own urine and controlling your breath with apples. He has some good and humors information on the use of decoys and making your scouting pay off through “hunting with a camera”.
He also quotes some stats on the progress and history of North American whitetails. The largest recorded one was a live weight 511 pound Minnesota bruiser in 1926. It dressed out at 402. The largest dress out was 431 in the place where they grow um big. Canada in 1977. It’s live weight was never recorded.
All in all this is a very good book that is worth reading several times.

I'm not surprised at all that you found Charles Alsheimer's writtings informative and interesting. I've never read the book you speak of but have read lots of articles and studies by Alsheimer. The man is a wealth of information on whitetail and whitetail habitat and QDM. I plan to add this book to my reading list.

A Lot of the benefits I find in these books are in the way they describe certain situations. I have also seen similar things but didn’t always know what it was looking at. These books really help a hunter understand just what it is they are looking at and for in the woods.
Just about finished with Greg Millers first book. That guys very good as well. There's a good chapter on stand placement. He learned the hard way were to put them. Looking back at last year I did the same thing wrong.
