If it was found on his property with the arrow still in the animal it is truly a shame he didn't recover the beast. The rack is a heck of a consolation prize.

There is still quite a bit of red meat around the skull cap. I found a road kill from this winter that had no hair around the skull cap. Nice rack though.
I noticed that as well, although I have noticed some road kills that emerge from melting snow that look well preserved. That is a HUGE rack... Buckzilla for sure!

We found a dead buck while looking for sheds a few weeks ago and despite having been dead since sometime during the fall, there was still quite a bit of meat on the skull/neck area. We ended up taking the entire head rather than just the skull cap, but I would certainly say it's feasible that this deer was killed in November and just recovered now.

My first impression is that its a by-product of some serious, SERIOUS QDM and supplemental feeding. Shame the guy didn't recover it - just my first impression

Wild looking buck and a monster for sure.......but he is holding it out a bit to enhance the effect. (The total width of his hand in the picture is wider than his face)

You can actually make a semi educated guess at the lengths etc by using a standard measurement off the picture and laying it over the rack itself. Especially the G2's since he is holding the rack in about the same plane that the G2's lie.

If you look at his right hand, and take the distance from his thumb knuckle to the outside edge of his pinky finger, and lay that measurement over the top of the G2's...even from the centerline of the main beam you can't lay that measurement down 4 times, more like 3.3X or so for the rt. and 3.5X for the left.

I measured my own hand (I'm 6'3") in the same position and I got a little over 4.75" in the same position........multiply that by say 3.3 for the right G2 and 3.5 for the left G2 and you get measurements of about 16"ish and 16 3/4"ish respectively from the approx centerline of the main beam.

That should be pretty close I would guess, and unless he's got huge hands the G2's aren't 20".
