Default Which Draw Weight?

I have gone to Bass Pro and tested out my draw weight, I can pull back the 60-70 lb weight so the clerk at Bass Pro recommends 60-70 to me, but I hear if its cold outside its really hard to pull back something that heavy, let alone hold it there for a long period of time. Now what im really trying to figure out is if I should get the 50-60 or the 60-70, what do you people think?

if you pull 70# ok and you haven't been shooting then you should be fine it'll get easier with practice i always buy 70# they are easier to sell.

Ice---this past hunting season I was hunting in -28c temps with my 68 lb bow without a hitch. If you practice with it yearly and 70 lbs is comfortable to you then get it.
I will stand up and stretch once an hour and draw my bow back when it gets cold, just to loosen up my mussles.
Just set your bow at whatever poundage your comfy with between 60 to 70 lbs and keep it there, just remember, bows tend to shoot better at max poundage.

I pull 60 lbs , no need for 70 , and yes its harder to pull when its cold out . As a side note ,I was watching the , spirt of the wild hunting show the other day and Tedys son shot a moose with a 50 pound bow and magnus broadhead , he was down within 40 yards .

I'm hunting in cold weather on a regular basis. I keep my bow set at 65lbs and have no problems pulling it. So long as you practice year round you should not have a problem pulling your draw weight. If 70lbs was no problem for you I'd get the 60-70lb model, you can always turn it down a bit.

It comes down to this: If you have extra strength to spare on whatever weight you're drawing you won't have problems in the cold. If 70#'s is about your max to do comfortably, then when you are cold and stiff it'll probably be hard for you to draw back and thus you'd need to draw a little less weight.

I realy believe it depends on how cold it is and how long you sit. I live in northern minnesota and when it is warm out I can shoot 70 without a problem but when it get's down into the 20sF 55 is hard.
