I will be putting the game cams out shortly to see who made it through the season.

Is there even such a thing as the end of scouting? I like immediately after the season best. this late in the year the deer are yarded up around my parts. The reason Ilike immediately after the season best is the deer are still in their fall travel patterns and you don't need to worry about spooking and chasing deer off. I do however carry a note book and make notes while shed hunting. I've found more then one bed room and verious travel lanes durring shed hunts.

I started scouting the day the season closed, although I think it is more to enjoy a walk in the woods than to actually pattern deer this early in the year. Still, with the snow on the ground, I have observed some trails that are much busier than I thought they would be. I may put in some screws soon and hunt these trails next year during December snow.

DK ,,, I live n.j. our statewide winter bow season is open til jan 31 its really cold sittin average temps around 20f ,,but the deer keep showing up earlier and earlier every nite so i keep goin out ,,,ive been watchin the antics of a very dominent doe as she picks on a small buck ,,she watches out for the rest of the herd and keeps chasing the the spike away ,,,so last nite i was goin to harvest her and ironic enuff he alerted her to my presence ,,,,,i was tryin to help him out !!! lol,,,,,
