I agree alot with what CarDeer, Pinnwheel, and Kill-it-n-grill-it had to say.I do agree Ted is a little over the top and alittle strange, what I can't understand is that or own "fellow" sportsman can bash or have an opinion about the man and his views but how many of you will, and have, taken a stand such as him to promote and protect our sport?I hear comments of he was unfaithfull to his wife and had a child out of wed lock, sooo, we had a President who excepted a hummer while married, and lived in the whitehouse but alot of you still backed him..To be POLITICAL about what you say and how you say it isn't being truthfull to anyone..I can bet that if we put everyone in one room we would'nt ALL agree on alot of hunting issues. I ask you a question: If we dont support the individuals who are fighting for OUR rights ,what rights will you have? As strange as he may be, he stands up and fights for yours and my rights. I support Ted in his fight for our freedom as hunters..At LEAST HE FIGHTS ON THE FRONT LINES AND NOT ON HIS KNEES!!!!

I'm sure we all have some kind of skeletons in our closets that we will never hear about because were not in the spotlight! It must be nice to be perfect, I for one will never know. I do try! Ted has done more for sportsman than I ever will!

I think this is getting a little out of hand on both ends of the extreme.
I think Ted is a jerk. I don't hunt like him and he doesn't represent me or the way I hunt. I don't want to hunt with him and wouldn't recomend him as anybody's role model.
At the same time, even if I won't go so far as "the enemy of my enemy is my friend", it doesn't mean it bothers me any if he gives the anti's a hard time nor would I do any thing at all to deter him from pursueing them all he cares to.
Doesn't mean I'm ready to elect him president of the NRA or anything though.
There's a LOT of jerks in every walk of life doesn't mean I have to invite one in to my home just because he hunts.

I do not feel that Nugent promotes and protects our sport. If anything, he endangers it by portraying hunters as "renegades" and somehow radical. That is simply not the case, and we all know that. Hunters represent a cross-section of America. We are factory workers, and architects, we are small business owners and lawyers. We are ordinary Americans. We are not all long-haired, hootin', hollering, cowboy types riding buffalos and hunting in high fence areas while shouting childish slogans to promote some barbaric macho meat-eaters-are-so-cool image.
Believe it or not, hunting can be "represented" without all the hype and in-your-face posturing he brings to the table.

I saw a post just yesterday where he was swearing and calling one of his members a retard.
I thought Ted was allright for hunting and a good sportsman years ago, all most joined his Org. Started reading alot about some of the stuff he did, from someone that helped start that org with him, and lurked at his site and was turned off.
