RE: instinctive shooting
I have shot that way since I started in 1978. Right now I am shooting a pse carrera. You really have to shoot a lot though to keep your eye. One thing about it is you can shoot a lot faster than those with sites.

RE: instinctive shooting
I used to practice it a lot. I would step out to 40-45 yards and take shots, holding it for under a second, before letting it fly toward the target. I couple years ago, I had a buck run around 10 yards from me on the ground. I never looked through the sites, just pulled back, let her go and put the arrow through the bucks lungs. The practice payed off, and I'd recommend everybody at least practice it if they have the time. It may not be something you'll ever use, but it might just save your bacon that one time, and make all the practicing worth it.

I used to be able to cant with a different rest. The rest I have now I have to be careful not to tilt it too far , maybe 5 degrees or so. Doing this does give you a better look at your target.

RE: instinctive shooting
If you want to see a good video of deer hunting with instinctive shooters, check out hunting october whitetails. They are pretty darn good shots. They also show you all the misses they made making the video. Its pretty funny with these two guys.
