I used to practice it a lot. I would step out to 40-45 yards and take shots, holding it for under a second, before letting it fly toward the target. I couple years ago, I had a buck run around 10 yards from me on the ground. I never looked through the sites, just pulled back, let her go and put the arrow through the bucks lungs. The practice payed off, and I'd recommend everybody at least practice it if they have the time. It may not be something you'll ever use, but it might just save your bacon that one time, and make all the practicing worth it.
