BHG, I've been a Southern Baptist in the heart of Dixie for almost 30yrs, and I've never heard anyone condone the beating of your spouse for any reason. The Bible says to submit, it also says for the man to love the woman like Christ loved the Church. Beating does not fall anywhere in there.


BTW, the "Modern" church also accepts homos, lesbos, etc. I don't know about you, but I stay waaaayyyyy away from that type of association.

I think it's just ridiculous to think of your girlfriend/fiancee/wife as your domestic inferior. First off, it's simply bizarre. Secondly, it goes against the notions of modern society, and third, it's incredibly ignorant.

My fiancee holds two master's degrees, is much smarter than I, makes more money than I do, and thinks for herself. To say that I, as the man of the house, am entitled to carte blanche "rule of the roost" is so bizarre that I cannot even comment any further.
