I saw a picture in a magazine once of some kind of big mit you can wear on your shooting hand, and it has a hole in the end of it for you to stick your release thru. Has anyone seen this before? Or does anyone use one? If so how do you like it? I lost the chance for a shot at a doe today becouse I couldnt feel my fingers on my release hand, and I couldnt feel the trigger on my release. [:@] Man was it frikkin cold out there today. And to think, its suppose to be colder tomorrow.[]

I can't find mine but I bought surplus army mittens real big ones with fur on the backs to wipe the snot.I wore them in my stand bare handed.If a shooter came along I could instantly remove it by tucking it under my left arm.Noiseless and fast.My hands would have all the feeling of a warm day for a few minutes.

I'd be afraid to use such a mit for fear of accidentally triggering the shot before the moment of truth. (That's speculation on my part, however; perhaps with enough practice you'll do OK.)
Although it takes another second or two, I prefer the big mit method that mrlizzard mentions.

Try the Glomitt from Cabels.....the Mitt flips back and exposes a fingerless glove...great for shooting a bow, rifle etc.... It has a maganet so the Mitt stays out of your way.....It also has thinsulate and scent-loc....By far the best hunting glove I've ever had......

i like the glommits, but bowhunting or rifle hunting in the cold weather, i usually just wear a pair of lightly insulated gloves so i can feel the trigger well and use a muff with a couple of handwarmers in it to keep my hands warm. works for me

I use a pair of thin gloves (ones I use all year, warm or cold) and either use a muff with hand warmers or hands in my pockets with hand warmers.

When it's time to shoot I grab my bow and go. If it's a long stand off my hands do get cold. One thing I find really handy is my EZ Hanger bow holder. I have it adjusted so I can basically keep the bow hanging right at shooting position so if I need to I can take it on and off the hook as needed. If my hands get too cold I can just hang it up for a few seconds and warm them up.

Works for me.

I hate to wear any kind of thick gloves when I shoot.
