Default 2 of the local big boys are gone

Well second slug season came and is now gone.

2 of the big boys were taken. A 7 Pointer that would make P & Y as a 6. And an 8 pointer that will probably be close to P & Y. I am working dilently at getting picures of both of these deer.

Also, rumor has it that someone from out of state was archery hunting and took a nice deer within 1/2 mile of where I hunt.

Below is a picture of the 7 pointer in 2001. Not much change from then until now.

The back right antler is the shed from 01.

And we have both sheds from last year.

Sorry to hear that those bucks you were hunting have been harvested. The odds sure are against the bucks when the orange army invades!!!![:@]

Hi cardeer! Good to be back on for a spell. I can no longer log on to this site at work with our internet protection that we require, so I'm only able to log on at home.

Hope all is well over on the east side, congrats on the new grandson!

Artic...buddy, where have you been? Sure glad to see you around once in a while!!

Trust me, we still want to get up there...but my buddy had to go and get married! Sucker!! So that threw our hunting plans for the next year or 2 out of whack. That took a lot of our money for this year, so we didn't even hit our Colorado trip this year. Plus, if we come up there hunting, I am sure she would want to come, so it will cost him even more money. But we still haven't ruled it out.

As much as it sucks to have two of you're huntable bucks gone I can't begrudge the slug hunters. At least they took mature animals. What really fries my butt is when I see buttons and spikes taken out. This just ensures that in future years the buck hunting is going to be that much harder.

I give you my condolences to those two fine bucks. ( just hope they got lucks and spread some genes)

The same thing happened to me last year. We had trailcam pictures of a beautiful 150" 8 pointer that we had seen several times, as well as a monster B&C caliber 10 pointer we had also seen a few times, just never close enough for a shot with a bow. Before opening shotgun weekend was over both of those bucks were dead, courtesy of the guys who hunted the land next to us.
