Default Newbie Question.

Going to try to make this quick. Never really thought I would get into bow hunting at all. I hunt alot with shotgun and I got this bow for free so I figured maybe after alot of practice I would give it a shot. However I don't know a thing about what I need to get this bow going. I think just a string as the one that was on it was fraying so I took it off. However I do not know what brand of bow it is. Nor what to look for for strings. Here is a pic of it, not sure on the picture policy here so I am just going to link it. bow pic So I think I just need a string and some arrows to get started. How do I find out what kind I need and where would I buy one? Any information on this bow would be awesome. Thanks everyone for your time.

Take it to your local archery shop. They will set you up there. It will do ALOT better than from some forum.

I agree with DK 100%. Take it to a pro shop you will be happier with the end results. I'd start there! Good Luck!

Take it to your local archery shop and allow a lot of time to get it tuned, to listen and learn. Welcome to the world of bowhunting!

Thanks for the advice. However I don't know of any shops around here. Maybe in Mason City? I was hoping I could get it going enough to learn myself. Don't have too much money to put into it now, and if I get into it I would probobly buy a new bow anyhow.
