was watching the local news tonight and the town of North Barrington Illinois near where I live has a deer control problem.The town is considering having bowhunters remove roughly twenty deer.Anyhow The news reporter interviewed a local anti huinting activist who stated that her group would like to use alternative ways instead of killing the deer,like use water sprays(what squirt guns)?or noise.It amazes me how uneducated people are to the effectivness of bowhunting.Another person interviewed how dangerous the bows and arrows are Yeah right they are just as dangerouse as a automobile is.Here is just one link that I found. http://www.all-creatures.org/cash/let-deer-11sep03.html and another from the station http://abclocal.go.com/wls/news/1130...arrington.html

I think she should teach them how to use a condom. This will prevent the Does from getting knocked up right away and bring their cycle back in with in a few weeks so the bucks can do it again. Then we would have very happy bucks running around in the world today. This would deminish the aggression I see every year when the rut comes into play.

LMFAO, some of the BS from those Treehuggers is hardly even creditable ways of getting rid of deer.

I find it funny all these Nothern IL towns are complaining about deer, well I got the answer for them, quit building all these EDITED houses and commercial properties, and maybe then there would not be such a problem, it is the peoples fault not the deer.....

I heard Barrington was going to be taking steps to eliminate some deer, but I was unaware that they would be utilizing bowhunters to do it. Most local municipalities hire sharpshooters to come in and do the dirty work for them at night. I have to applaud the city of North Barrington for their decision.

In regards to the anti-hunters, there are always people out there with uneducated opinions no matter what the subject. The only thing we can do is use our voice to educate people about the facts and hope that the truth prevails.

I would consider the chance to hunt North Barrington..basically to lobby the sport better. I would consider it only as a means of setting a proper example of a deer hunter, and what the deer hunter can do to eliminate a ongoing deer population problem within a human population. Not one the public sees as a beer guzzling hillbilly..who simply kills for fun. For these reasons I would apply.
