    Hey bill, i saw that show where it deflected off the rock and made that awful noise...

    I saw that show and you could hear the ricochet off the rock. I'm sure the mechanical opened up--on impact as it should. I don't care how much planing you get from a blade opening, it wouldn't take the path that that arrow took without contacting a rock.
