I know, some use it and some don't.
However, my question is, are bucks likely to be spooked by, let's say Tink's 69, or some other doe in heat type scent during the rut?
I guess what I'm asking is, do the odds of drawing in a big buck outweigh the odds of spooking him when using scents during the rut? Is his hormones pumping so wildly that any decent attractant scent is likely to make him investigate, or should I just set up well in doe use areas, using no scent, and wait for fate to bring him by?
Thanks.

I've had does and small buck shy from it but i've never had one spook yet! I use a scent drag and some scent wicks. I place the wicks in hopes that the big buck will stop long enough to get of that shot. I will also use a couple of scent wick in my stand with me for a cover scent!

I use Tinks doe in Oct- early Nov. Then switch to 69 from early Nov-end of the month. Unless I see otherwise in the woods. But that's Norhtern IL and that what I do every year. Depends on the Rut for your area. When in doubt I use Tinks doe.
