Northern Bowhunters:How ya doing this year?
#11
Hey, I live in Kent County Michigan, and have been seeing many deer previous to the bad weather. Hope this weekend is better! The rut is definatly on in my area I would have to say. I had some smaller bucks chasing does, had buck rubs and scrapes for awhile, but them big boys are still hunkered in the swamps. Good luck to all this weekend!!

My experience is similar to huey26us. Oak trees have little to no acorns and the ones that did grow are small. Have seen very few bucks but plenty of does. I will be happy when the farmers cut the corn and the deer have to move to the woods. In Calhoun county (Michigan) the rut is definitely not on in my area. There are a few rubs and scrapes but they appear to be made by young bucks. Plus, the temperatures are making movement minimal. I went out yesterday and moved a stand just so I could get ready for when the temp drops. Three weekends straight of rain and wind. Now it looks like Sunday night it will finally cool down and that is Halloween night. Given that the full moon is past, the corn will soon be cut and the rut is around the corner, the next two weeks should bring a lot more buck sightings.
