I agree whole heartedly with Fieldmouse on this one. Try to find out how actice the warden is around where you hunt. where i'm at, the wardens rarely bother a bowhunter on private property.

Your in a tough one man,
I guess I wouldn't.
It wouldn't be worth the fine and the bad name if I were to get caught.
A couple of years ago a in the middle of bow season a buddie of mine had surgery on his shoulder, so he couln't shoot his bow.
He asked me if I could shoot one for him. I checked with the DNR. It would not be legal for me to shoot his deer unless he was with me and was able to shoot himself. So party hunting is legal here but it was illegal if he was with but could not draw back his bow. I don't know if I agree with that but the law as they say is the law!
All it would take is for this guy to tell the wrong person and you would both me in a world of hurt!

Oh man I can't believe the ethics police aren't doing chicken flips over this one. Some jack ass on this site called me a poacher because I realized a couple of weeks after a turkey hunt that I had previously hunted without a plug and here you guys are talking about killing double your limit.
I am not going to offer advice one way or the other I am just surprised this post hasn't turned into WWE

I think it comes down to is it legal to do the shooting and the land owner uses one of his tags. If it is I would ablige the man. If it isn't then you either call it experience and eat doe meat or find another place to hunt. The ethics question just about always has something to do with the law and if it isn't legal its not going to be ethical most likely.
Now I know ethics is something inside each of us to decide upon and legality doesn't equal ethics by any stretch. Just do what is right because it's still your name at the end of hte day.

not my cup of tea there.....to me thats illegal.....even though the guy has 3 tags....hes not killing the deer.....to me thats breaking the law.....find a friend to help take a few out without breaking the law.....or take them in rifle season or something.....WV i always thought you were allowed alot of deer....maybe im wrong.....but its not me to break the law on purpose.....if i wanted to hunt the land and knew i wouldnt be able to without killing these extra deer id find a way to do it legally........but you could get away with it very easily.....and if its you and you want to do it whose going to stop you? just not my style.....

Thanks guys for your replys. To me it is an ethical question due to where it is at there is no problem with a game warden at all it is his land and he will come out and get the deer. I was just wondering what some of you would do. Yes I can take a lot of deer in WV but only 3 with a bow during the early part of season and he wanted a couple of young does for himself and if I dont get them he will probably just shoot a couple with his rifle and let it go. He is just giving me a chance to take them with my bow if I want.

Do the Right Thing.
Something that has stuck with me from the military. I can't tell you nor anyone else what to do when nobody else is looking. Do what is going to allow you to sleep at night.
I wouldn't want to be in the situation either, but I think I'd start by having an honost talk with the landowner about your Conundrum. He may value your ethics as much as you do. Either way its your decision ultimately - noone else will be looking.
