Thats funny. I like the 5' off the ground and the bow unattached. Did you climb back down or did you tie a loop and hook the bow?

Thanks for sharing! I've never actually used a climber, but I often wondered how one knew what height they were at.

I did have a friend who picked out a huge tree and decided he would climb so he was just below a large limb. Tested his theory in the daylight, seemed like a good spot. Went back the next morning to climb up. Kept feeling for the limb till he finally stood up in his stand and smacked his head really good. Found the limb!

Funny experience. I always use a 20 foot pull rope so when I'm climbing and start to raise the top portion on my climber, I can estimate the height I'm at. mrfritz, you aren't alone. I've done the same thing at least twice.
