I'm a Bowtech man so I almost hate to ask this question, but does anybody have any experience with the Genesis bow from Mathews for kids. I'm thinking about getting my son one for his birthday, he will be 7. He already has a little bow from Walmart but it doesn't shoot very hard. I would like to know if the Genesis would be a vast improvement or is it basically what he already has, just a lot more expensive.

I'm sure someone with more experience can assist you however I'm under the understanding that the Genesis bow doesn't have a defined draw length thusly will be usable as your boy grows. Isn't the Genesis the bow used in many archer training scenerios for all ages?

It looks like a compound but acts like a recurve. No set draw length, no letoff. Fits draw lengths 15-30", so he'd be able to use it a long time. Or just about anyone else in the family, for that matter. It'd be a definite ramp up from his little wallyworld bow.

yeah they work pretty good. i worked at a kids camp and they had them there and the kids were all dif sizes so they all could use them no matter what. there not the most powerful things but thats ok for a beginner.
