I work full time and the wife works some evenings and weekends. We have 2 kids and it does squeeze. I go out super early, come in early, get stuff done and then go back out just to monitor movement. Then in the evening a few nights week I go out around 1630 to really hunt. Its not a long time but if you pay attention to their movement you can be in place long before they come through. I also stalk so getting in place early doesnt matter on those days so much.

I have 2 boys (8 and 2) that I love spending time with. I took my 8 year old out squirrel hunting with me this year and he loved it!!! I think I will get him a bow next year and let him start shooting. I show up to my son's soccer games in camo. You should see some of the looks I get. I really don't care because I would NEVER miss one of his games. I just compromise. My wife is awesome about me hunting (for the most part). She knows how much it means to me. My family is and always will be #1 on my priority list. My wife does not give me any grief when it comes to hunting because she knows that I put my family first, and if that means not hunting in the morning/evening that's ok. I know that there will always be time to hunt. My kids will not always be young.

I here you guys. I have 2 girls 4 and 7. We have dance class on Tuesday and soccer on Thursday and Saturday. I haven't missed a soccer game or practice yet. I work a second job in the evening, but all around my kids schedule. My family has always shown up for everthing. I'm talking grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends and neighbors. My kids have atleast 8-10 people at eveygame and 20+ people at their recitals. Family is ALWAYS first especially over personal activities. It'll payoff in the long run and I can fish and hunt all I want when they are older. I make plans a week or 2 in advance with my wife so that I can hunt in the evening when we are free. Your kids are only young once. Take advantage of it now.
