Hi all,
I need to buy a new bow but have problems deciding.
I can buy a 2 year old Golden Eagle Litespeed 2 for $240 US, it was almost never used and is as new as you can get.
I am also considering buying a brand new Reflex Excursion for $240, but since I live in Canada I need to import this bow and taxes and duty will be another $100.
I have read as much as I could about the Excursion and it sounds like a real nice bow, but I can't find nothing about the Golden Eagle Litespeed 2 on the internet.
I can't even find the Golden Eagle website.
Anybody know anything about the Golden Eagle Litespeed 2 ?
Is this a good bow because I am leaning to-wards buying this bow.
I have limited cash and will need to buy a site and rest for the bow I buy.
I need any advice I can get.
Thanks..

never had a reflex bow in my hands have shot a golden eagle, but i would not limit myself to those two choices, plus you have a fine bow that is made in canada, CHAMPION very good bows and a good bunch of guys jeff and bob syblevchi something-another i have hunted with them and with champion bows like i said good product and you can avoid the duty poo-poo. btw what part of canada, man i love it where we hunted manatoba/sas-gat-you-one(sp)

The litespeed was a popular bow in the Golden Eagle lineup several years ago. I doubt you will find much current info on it as it is no longer being manufactured.
Golden Eagle is part of the North American Archery Group conglomeration of bows...Jennings, Buckmasters, Fred Bear, etc... are also a part of it. Try www.beararch.com for more info.

I think you'll have trouble locating anything about Golden Eagle as NAAG was changed to Fred Bear Equipment company last year and has since changed their name again. For 2004 the Golden Eagle brand has been discontinued as to my latest knowledge. Who knows how long Bear is going to be around is anybody's guess. Lifetime warranty isn't much good if the company goes kaput. Just something to think about.

The first question is, does the Golden Eagle fit you? If you can buy it for $5 and it does not fit, it is worthless to you. If it is at a pro shop, make sure they say it fits you before you buy it. If it is not at a pro shop, ask whoever is selling it if you can take it to a shop to make sure it fits. If it does not, get your proper measurements and order the Reflex.

$240-$340 for a used, bare bones bow, does not sound like a deal to me. Price some new ones from your local sproting goods store. They generally have all accessories on them. Excluding maybe a release and arrows, but you can usually talk them into a deal on these items too, with bow purchase. So I am just echoing the others with don't limit your options.
