WABBITS (my first TURBO Kill)
For the past two years since we got the TURBO NOCK to market, everyone has been having fun hunting with them except me!!
I had rotater surgery and have just recently been able to shoot my 55lb bow with some degree of confidence.
Last weekend I was the designated camera man on an elk hunt in Colorado where we were trying to get some entertaining video by taking an elk with a cowsuit getup (COWMOOFLAGE)
I took my new High Country SSR bow with an eradicator sight and some turbo arrows equipped with Muzzy springy small game adaptors. I was basically trying to get the bow tuned in for an october deer hunt in Ill. ( I was one of the lucky ones to get an out of state license)
The first night on the ranch , as soon as the sun went down there were rabbits runnin around everywhere!
I got up before sunrise and walked out into a pasture and as the sky got light I could see a lot of rabbits hoppin around. As soon as the sun rose they all disappeared! Then the hawks started flying and I could understand why they disappeared.
The next morning I got up early, put on my camo suit I use for video. It is basically a (sarape) made from some camo cloth and it totally breaks up my body shape, kind of like a gilly suit, but lightweight.
Many years ago my dad taught me to hunt rabbits in pastures , by looking for their eyes in clumps of grass. If you take your time and concentrate you can pick out the little shiny black dot of a rabbit looking at you.
I came upon one about one minute after entering the pasture,
I juged him to be about 15yds and since this was my first shot I went for a shoulder shot. WHAM!!!! nailed him!!!
That little springy muzzy really delivers a lot of shock!!!
The next morning I tried again, filled with confidence in my
equipment, and amazed that the rebuilt shoulder was working .
This time it took about a half hour of clump hunting to find another rabbit. I estimated about 20yds and decided to try a HOWARD HILL head shot. Again WHAM!! nailed him right behind the ears.
I guess I am ready for some big Ill and Pa whitetails. If I can take a wabbit at 20 I should have no problem with whitetails??????
I wonder if anyone makes anti buck fever pills???

For those of you who don't know, Nick is from my hometown....in fact he's my Seegung(sp).....that means grandfather in Chinese...(right Nick) but not by blood, he's the instructor to my Sifu(Father) instructor in Kung Fu. And quite the character.

I did post the sequel to Cowmooflage , it is called Cowmooflage update, I think is on page three. I will be hunting somewhere south east of Harrisburg Ill. Buster Greenway, My cowmooflage shooter has been hunting that area for years and invited me along.
Yeah Grasshopper thats it!! Well springy thing got the idea across.
I never hunted with them before and was suprised at the shocking force they deliver to small game.

Good luck pursuing those whitetails!
